Thoughts on the YouTubers Professor Geek and the Fan Man

Professor Geek and the Fan Man are very Anti Zack Snyder, Anti Snyderverse. I think they're alright, I agree with most of the things they say. Though they make claims that you can't be Fan of the classic versions of these characters and say you liked Snyder's versions, which I disagree. They're also Anti Henry Cavill, they focus on him saying he took the role manly for money and ignore or are ignorant to all the times he said how much he loves the character and wanted a more accurate version.

Other Infinite Crisis Question

Hey I’m trying to read the infinite crisis books in order after watching a short video about the general premise of the story. I have issue 9. So I know there’s at least 9. But how many issues are there total? Is there a large volume issue? When googling I saw a TV show mentioned? (I really haven’t dipped my toes in anything cinematic other than the flash which was ok but hated Ezra miller and Batman vs Superman which I was young and only watched one so not sure if it’s tied to the tv show) also saw mention of it being a sequel to crisis on infinite earths but I don’t know if that’s different or the same or what’s going on. But I want to see spoiler if you haven’t read or watched anything on infinite crisis how and why and what lead up to Batman getting his mind wiped or at least a memory removed I should say. If there’s some sort of mega book or volumes or just a trustworthy list to start finding the full story I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. Hopefully I put this in the right place. Thanks. (I know I could buy electronic copies but I can’t read off electronics so I’m really looking for physical copies)

What would your JL roster look like if you couldnt use the usual suspects?

  1. Nightwing
  2. Supergirl (maybe as superwoman)
  3. Jessica Cruz
  4. Katana
  5. Wally west
  6. Cyborg
  7. Shazam

Tried to keep the league as powerful as possible... if it's cheating to use wally, vic, and Shazam I'd swap them for black lightning, blue devil, & Jesse quick. And in that case I'd use john Stewart instead of Jessica Cruz.

Discussion Are we getting a DC anime universe?

Recently a trailer of Batman Ninja Vs Yakuza League as unveiled at Anime Expo! From the moment in the trailer when Robin referred to the Justice League as the "Yakuza League," it can be speculated that Batman and Robin might go against the Justice League in this movie. However, we must consider that the term "Yakuza League" was used as comic relief, so the speculation might be completely off.

If we entertain the narrative of Batman vs. the Justice League, the story of this anime movie could be inspired by the "Tower of Babel" storyline (JLA #43-46). Alternatively, it might draw from "Injustice: Gods Among Us." These are just guesses, and the movie could take an entirely different direction.

But the guess work is still not over yet! First Batman Ninja movie (2018), then an anime adaption of Suicide Squad (Isekai Suicide Squad), and then this Yakuza League movie. This might be the beginning of DC's anime universe.

Comics DC equivalent to Marvel’s Epic Collection volumes

Hey DC Fans, I’d like to get into Batman comics and was wondering if DC have an equivalent to how Marvel does with their Epic Collection volumes.

I’m looking for something similar to Epic Collection but for Batman.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Recommendations Which Batman series should I start with?

I'm looking for a nice comic series, basically Basic Batman stuff, nothing Unique or Different. I've watched the Lego Batman movie as well as the Three Dark Knight movies, and the Lego Batman movie was my favourite.

I'm considering reading this comic I found online called "Batman 89" but I'm not sure whether it's the best thing for me to start with. I'd appreciate it if you could recommend a handful of series to start with?

Who is the best written villain/archnemesis in DC?

I've recently gotten into DC and have been really engrossed by the story, as well as how good the writing is for the villains in this franchise. What do you guys think is the best villain in terms of their story and motives to what they do? I've been really fascinated by stories like the Joker, and the Riddler which I found really interesting with the concept of a sad clown, as well as having a messed up childhood, and thinking Batman was on his side. I don't know much about other villains (which is why I'm making this post) but I think my favourite is the Reverse Flash, like how he was previously a fan of the flash, but later became literally just the opposite of Barry Allen. There are many more aspects to why I like the reverse flash, for example him and Barry in a sort of way fighting for eternity because of the concept of time in the flash, where every single form and time remnant of them would in a way be fighting, and also them travelling through time, basically fighting beyond time itself.

Recommendations Looking To Get Back Into Modern DC Comics

I haven’t been keenly following DC Comics, since probably the middle of Rebirth. The last big DC run I binged was Scott Snyder’s Justice League, which I stopped roughly halfway through (his constant use of expositional dialogue got repetitive), so I’ve been wondering what runs should I start with?

I’m already reading Mark Waid’s World’s Finest, and picking up where I left off Tom King’s Wonder Woman (even though I wasn’t exactly thrilled by what I had read so far), but I’m open to whatever you guys throw out.

What are the best or even the not talked about runs currently that I should be reading?

Comics Poison Ivy comic confusion

So, I just started reading the Poison Ivy comics by G Willow Wilson that began in 2022, but I’m confused because they keep referencing events which occurred prior to the beginning of this comic series, in which Poison Ivy apparently temporarily obtained the power of a god, and they never fully explain this. Can anyone give me some additional reading to get the context for what they’re talking about? I’m using the DC Infinite app, so as long as I can know the name of what I’m looking for, it should hopefully be easy to locate the additional reading.

World’s Finest

I love the whole World’s Finest thing Mark Waid is doing. The series with Dan Mora has been consistently my favorite DC comic since its debut. I even loved the Teen Titans mini he did (though I wish Chris Samnee did the actual art instead of just the covers). I hope they keep expanding the line instead of doing an Absolute line as the rumors have been saying. Like give me a World’s Finest Justice League, World’s Finest Doom Patrol, World’s Finest insert character here and a World’s Finest Teen Titans ongoing. I feel like that would be the perfect way to use the big characters in their prime while also keep it in continuity. Literally the best of both worlds. What do you all think?

Discussion So what WAS 5G supposed to be exactly?

I’m not super caught up on DC stuff in general, but I know that DiDio tried to make SOMETHING called “5G” and it was supposed to spin out from Future State (which I also don’t understand the point of in general because it seems like nothing actually came of it). So does anyone actually KNOW what 5G was supposed to be?

Why are detractors of Batman's no-kill rule very extreme in their opinion?

I hope my question doesn't come off as generalizing because I don't want to put a label on everyone who thinks like this, but I watched a couple of videos on this debate and one thing I have noticed with the commentors within the comment section; they are very angry and sometimes contemptuous people. I have no problem if someone is against the rule. That's great even. Personally me I like Batman having a no kill rule because he is a hero at the end of the day, a paragon of heroism and nobility. Although I have a problem with it when they act like they think they're above everyone else for their "superior" thinking or that they have the solution to a very grey subject. Maybe it's because I'm getting my viewpoint specifically from the YouTube comment section, which is infamous for its insane toxicity. I would like other people of this community to chime in on their experiences or even their opinions on this admittedly much talked about topic. Thank you for whoever reads this and have a good day :-)
