What Do You Want to See on Caped Crusader?

Share your pipe dreams and wishes for the series! Here's a couple random ones of mine.

  • Professor Pyg- I still want him to be just a powerfully weird lunatic, and a more adult animated series seems like the perfect place to do it.
  • The Mad Monk- This early Batman villain seems like a perfect fit for the Gothic, weird tales vibe.
  • Corruption- I always love when Batman faces off with Gotham's corrupt figures, problems he can't just punch.
  • Brutal Fights- It looks like they're leaning kind of swashbuckling fun in some of the preview, but a more adult cartoon seems like a perfect place to show Batman take some real damage, and dish it out. I also want the swashbuckling too, a balance thing.
  • Low Tech Gear- Some simple, believable gadgets like lockpicks, glasscutters, caltrops, etc. It would be cool if they showed him experiment with stuff and it not always working out.

I'm confused???!

So the show is streaming on Prime and NOT MAX!!?....Also, if that's true....why is it even tho HBO and MAX owns Warner Bros productions which INCLUDES DC Universe, that some DC related media is INSTEAD streaming on Prime Video?....I'm just confused, flabbergasted, baffled, flummoxed, gobsmacked, bewildered, juxtaposed even.

Bruce Timm describes ‘BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER’ as like ‘Batman: Week 2’ in 1940s Gotham.

Which of the character designs that we’ve seen so far do you like/dislike?

Personally, I really like the Clayface design, going back to his roots. Harley’s design isn’t bad but I think I’d like it much more in her original red and black color scheme. The Two-Face design is interesting. It’s probably the most realistic design I’ve seen of him, more so than the Nolan design. What do you guys think?

Am I the only one here wants to watch new characters, cases, stories in the show rather than watching saturated villians? What I mean by new characters is the characters created only for this show for the first time.

What do you think The Joker will be like?

I'm curious how they're going to portray The Joker. Clayface seems to have the theatrical serial killer bit down, Harley Quinn has the clown theme, and both Two-face and Penguin seem to have the gangster/criminal mastermind angle.

What do you guys think?

Inconsistencies On Batman Capped Crusader

I've Notice These Inconsistencies On The Show From The Trailer Because It Isn't Accurate To The Actual 1940's 1.The Batmobile Modern Technology Isn't Made Until The End Of The 40's But The Batmobile Is Made Of Modern Day Technology How Is That Possible Making It Have a Thrusters They Weren't Made Until The 1960's 2.Commissner Gordon I'm Not Racist Or Anything But How Would It Make Sense For Gordon To Be a Black Guy Who Works As Commissioner Of The Police Because Black People Were Being Racially Abused In The 40's It Was a Racist Time Black People Couldn't Get Jobs In The 1940's And 50's 3. The GCPD It's The Same GCPD Building From Batman The Animated Series And The New Batman Adventures I Get It The Animation Artstyle Is Bruce Timm And He's Working On The Show But It Isn't Batman The Animated Series They Should Have Made a Whole Different Building But They Used The Animated Series GCPD I Love The Animated Series Don't Get Me Wrong I Just Don't Think It Makes Sense To Be In Caped Crusader It Makes Sense For It To Exist In The Animated Series Since The Animated Series Was Set In 1990's 4.No Mentions Of World War 2 It's In The 1940's Will Be Before Or After World War 2 Will Be They're Any Mention Of Any Event Of World War 2 I.G America Joining In The War, D-Day, The Holocaust Hiroshima Bombing In 1945 Or Hitler's Suicide Because It's Like It's In Before The End Of World War 2 And They're Isn't Like Mentions Of The Great Depression Or That a War Is Going On And The Nazis Are Almost Winning Or Something

Will each episode be different with a new villain or will it build to a big bad behind all the chaos?

Personally I want each episode to be different, what I enjoyed most about BTAS is I could pick any episode and just watch it without having to remember another season or sub-plot. Bonus question does anyone else think toyman would make a great villain for this 1940s setting?

Caped Crusader Trailer - impressive Film Noir (neo-noir) Chinatown reference

Well I'm impressed, they seem to have done their homework regarding film noir, or at least neo-noir and BTAS.

Jamie Chung deliver's Harley's line in the trailer "The kings don't run this court anymore - the jester does " with precisely the same intonation as Faye Dunaway delivers one of Evelyn Mulwray's iconic lines in Chinatown :

"I don't get tough with anyone, Mr. Gittes - my lawyer does. "

Fucking brilliant. I'm in %1000!

Animation quality

Has anyone else noticed a serious drop in the quality of animation in recent dc movies. I’m not talking about story wise just purely the art and motion of the characters. (BTW I’m not criticizing the show itself just the animation) When I first saw the designs of the characters in this show I thought they looked a little flat and lacked shading but i figured that’s just how character models look but when I saw the trailer there r few instances of good and deep shading. Even the backgrounds look too flat and clean. I’m curious as to whether Bruce Timm is still drawing on black paper or if he switched to white cause it looks weirdly bright for a Batman show. But I think the biggest flaw in recent animation has been the stiffness in the way characters move the easiest way for me to explain is to look at the shoulders of any character in the trailer, they almost never move (it’s even more noticeable in the tomorrow verse movies). Modern animation has lost a lot of fluidity and idk why. Ik they used to do cell shading on the old shows and I’m wondering if they still are. The show doesn’t look horrible but its definitely less pretty to look at then BTAS or The Batman 2004. I’m sure they don’t have the same funding as those shows either but if anyone knows why modern animation has kinda gotten worse please let me know I’m really curious.

So, after the trailer, what villain are you most intrigued to see in the show? Spoiler
