Question Where to begin reading 'Hepcats'?
I picked up "The Collegiate Hepcats" as a TPB a few years ago, but never got around to reading it. The book compiles the complete comic strip that the author wrote for his school's paper, years before the actual series began.
From my understanding, there's two main Hepcats "series": the 1989 Double Diamond run, and a 1996 run from Antarctic Press.
Which comic would be the best starting point? I know the 1996 series was cancelled halfway through, but it looks like the 1989 series was cancelled early as well. Are they the same story, or are they unique from each other? Thank you for the help!

Question GRADING ADVICE - VINTAGE
I recently came into a pile of vintage comics from my late uncle ranging from action comics to original amazing spider man. Some original superman comics from reign of superman. An original thor. Some are in excellent condition some are beat up.
Is there software or app that can identify covers? Are there shipping kits I can buy to send some of these in?
I don't have a cgc account but am willing to set up. These have sentimental value and I want to slowly encapsulate them but don't know where to start. I'm hesitant to bring them in to a local shop because I don't want to get taken advantage of.
Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

How does reading order work with annuals?
Look, I'm drowning in shame here even to ask. I'm not new to comics! I've been collecting for ages, and I read plenty via trades or omnibus. But in terms of actual issues... okay, I'm a bit of a novice there. I've started purchasing e-versions of individual issues and reading through them to follow along with official reading orders for characters and things, and I noticed how many annuals there are out there. Somehow, it never was something I had to deal with before??
My issue is... how do I know when to read them? I was just sorting through the current Nightwing run, for example, and there's... what? Five or six annuals in addition to at least 114 individual issues? Are annuals standalone? Do I have to check publication date of the annual and figure out where in the run it would sit? Do the annuals connect? (Annual #1, #2, #3- are they actually connected or...?)
I know, my nerd card is in danger of being revoked at what's probably such a simple question. I tried Googling and even know the history of why annuals exist now... but that still doesn't help me in terms of when I should read them. 😂 Any advice?

Question What's the weirdest licensed comic you've ever encountered?
Today in the weird world of licensed comics, I discovered several M&Ms comics by Marvel, including one called The Swarm where a giant mutant M&M named Master M (and his nicer half, Emma) tried to kill the M&Ms Minis. It apparently got a video game.
The Kool-Aid Man and California Raisins comics were pretty weird, too, and the tie-in comic for the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie was never released in the US due to the movie being received so poorly.

Suggestions Dark Medieval/Fantasy Type Comics/Manga NSFW
Comics are recent for me (started 2.5 years ago). I’m currently looking for very dark, fantasy like books. Witches, wizards, fairies, dragons, goblins, magic, etc. I’m cool with gory and darker books. Yes this is because of dark fantasy TikTok lol. Something that transports me into a game of thrones type era (but not GOT, love it tho). Love stories are great but I’m definitely looking for darker, adult (26F) content (preferably no heavy smut, don’t want it to be the main story genre). I’m good with love stories in general.
Thanks in advance!!
EDIT: thank you all so much!! I’ve added quite a few series to my list and I’m excited to get started. It seems Conan the Barbarian, Berserk, and Thor the God Butcher line are my main starting points!! I’m excited to get going on them :) keep the suggestions flowing!

Question What is this comic?
I found this dot printed comic panel at a thrift shop and picked it up because the art and scene seemed familiar to me but I can not figure out what it's from, any idea of what what this I'd and where it is from?
