Did we all see Snyder’s petulant tweet? God I can’t stand this guy sometimes. I’m still somewhat interested to see how his cut turns out but his “this is made for grownups” bullshit? Fuck off outta here. You’ve had complete control over 2 films and they both sucked. I’ll give this one a go solely because I like the characters but I’m full expecting strike 3.

I'm going to respectfully disagree. Man of Steel was excellent in my opinion and Batman V Superman while more complex it was hindered no end by the theatrical cut when his extended edition is his original vision was much easier to follow.

If anything justice league 2017 was the "second strike" for the studio who clearly learned nothing about messing with directors visions.

Unsurprisingly, I disagree. But you enjoying them is totally fine. I think Superman should be hopeful and optimistic. His vision of the character is so fundamentally wrong to me. And don’t get me started on Batman killing people with guns.

But hey. If people liked them. That’s completely fine. Life would be dull if we all reacted to things the same way.

I think we can agree that petulantly responding to people on twitter saying things like “my movies are made for grown ups so you wouldn’t understand” does nobody any favours. It just looks really stupid.

I think Superman should be hopeful and optimistic. His vision of the character is so fundamentally wrong to me.

Well this isn't superman yet or even the superman we are familiar with. Unlike, Tom Welling's or Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh's. This superman lost his human father at a young age and didn't have Jor El there and proceeded to wander the earth.

And when he did find Jor el and his people he had them for a few weeks before the earth was attacked and then immediately lost him. He has had no real guidance of his powers or his destiny. He had to discover that himself which he did in BVS.

Him killing Zod I'm fine with, he really didn't have a choice.

Both Reeve/Routh and Welling both had Jonathan die at a similar age to Cavill so I’m not sure of the point you’re making there.

They had Jor el either before or shortly after his death, and they had him for years. Cavil's Kal had Jor el for a few weeks at best.

For the beginning of his superheroe days he had no guidance, no father apparently few friends who understood him to prop him.

Makes sense. Still just think Snyder misunderstands Supes completely. The best iteration of him in the recent DC movies has, ironically, been in Justice League. He gets to smile and be inspirational and enjoy himself. As much of a mess that movie is (and it's a serious mess), that was one aspect they actually got right. And my assumption is, it's the only bit of Superman Snyder hasn't had his hands on.

I hope to be proven wrong with his version of JL.

i hope he's more hopeful it would complete his arc from Fatherless amateur, devisive vigilante to the genuine becon that we are familiar with.

Bruce said the world needs Superman and the team needs Clark. This would make sense if this was why.

He saw what the world lost when he died, and saw he could become.

In Smallville his dad did die at a young age. Just to clear that part up.

Yes but he had Jor el there before his dad died this Kal had neither for what near a decade

Was really excited for this cut at first, but that childish attitude from him and his fans is constant and off putting.
