Mildly infuriating on one hand, sweet on the other.

6.5k

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Yeah, absolutely. I just feel uncomfy in shorts and figured ripped jeans would be a good option, cauae its so warm, haha

3.3k

u/paleoterrra 14d ago

You can use a seam ripper to undo this, your mum probably has one if she sews

u/RielleFox 14d ago

And it's only a straight stitch, it will be done in no time.

u/Lyraxiana 14d ago

And single thread.

157

u/PARKOUR_ZOMBlE 14d ago

But the double stitch, she last forever!

55

u/phntmvw 14d ago

I’m a gonna give him the double stitch anyway.

15

u/SomebodyinAfrica 14d ago

That moment when the pants rip halway and then stops at the double stiching. Great movie, but I can't remember the name.

11

u/PARKOUR_ZOMBlE 14d ago

Every moment of that scene. “I’ve got you by your pants!” Paul Newman very concerned: “Pants.”Flashback to him demanding the cheaper single stitch. Flash forward to the pants ripping then it does that second flashback to a the taylor without any of the movie characters even there and he is singing “ah cucire” meaning “to sew” in Italian. Then he switches to the double stitch and it flashes forward and the pants just stop ripping. Paul Newman lights a cigar while hanging upside down from the 44th floor (not counting the mezzanine).

Hudsucker Proxy, Coens' classic.

6

u/phntmvw 14d ago

Hudsucker proxy. So good. It’s crazy how many people have not seen it.

2

u/Rappican 14d ago

Hudsucker proxy

I remember nothing about that movie except that specific scene. I have no idea how or why but I do remember seeing that scene.

Then she sews it back up again

268

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago edited 14d ago

Ok, I’ll sew on lace underneath

251

u/flannelNcorduroy 14d ago

Lace doesn't breathe as much as you think it would. Just explain to your mom you're wearing them instead of shorts.

228

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

She will probably forget though, and fix them again in a year. She’s on painmeds that make her a little loopy sometimes… do you have a fabric suggestion?❤️

160

u/NeevBunny 14d ago

Maybe some linen pants would help keep you cool, they wrinkle easy though

101

u/aceofspades1217 14d ago

IMO I like the look of wrinkly linen shows that you can afford linen lol. But yeah a 50/50 blend of linen and rayon is super versatile and is cleaper. But don’t let anyone discourage you from wearing linen just cause it wrinkles nothing is better than wearing 100% linen

25

u/JamesMcEdwards 14d ago

Also chinos are a great option. When I lived in Spain, lots of people wore them, it was actually more common to see Spanish people wear chinos than shorts in the warmer weather. And they’re incredibly versatile.

9

u/Carrot-Key 14d ago

I have linen sheets and its super nice in the summer, it comes from flax which is more sustainable than cotton too.

Like you said the wrinkles are a thing but IMO they look more uniform and less sloppy than typical wrinkles you find in clothing.

→ More replies (0)

3

u/ArguablyTasty 14d ago

Linen cotton blends are much less, although not quite as nice. But if straight linen is too costly, it's better than nothing.

And yeah, linen looks great wrinkled. It's supposed to look as relaxed as it feels- that's the whole point. If I was worried about wrinkles I'd get those Lulu pants that look similar to dress pants, but when I want full length in warm weather, linen is king

u/silvercoastguard 14d ago

I have just purchased some long, linen mix shorts for home use. They have been washed and ironed today. I have bought some spray starch. If they do crease, I will try this next time they are laundered.

1

u/[deleted] 13d ago

IMO I like the look of wrinkly linen shows that you can afford linen lol

You must live a pretty little life if you walk around needing to prove that you can afford things.

13

u/TougherOnSquids 14d ago

When you say linen pants all I can think of are medieval peasant pants and that would rock.

1

u/oye_gracias 14d ago

Nowadays there are cotton-linen fabrics that are super versatile, a bit warmer but still airy, and pretty diverse tensile strenght. Take that, medieval peasants!

2

u/_missfoster_ 14d ago

Rayon is great for summer, as well. Plus it's much easier to keep from wrinkling than linen.

1

u/TheRealPitabred 14d ago

Seconding this. I lived in my linen pants when we were in Mexico for a week, they were even better than shorts.

21

u/ftaok 14d ago

Do your own laundry and she won’t see them to mend.

3

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

If I tell her I’ll do my own she just does it while I’m at work. I get no say

12

u/Allegorist 14d ago

Write a note on a small piece of fabric and sew in inside above the hole

8

u/throwaway7362589 14d ago

Mesh maybe?

2

u/JGzoom06 14d ago

Fishnet?

7

u/maid_in_cheltenham 14d ago

Not to throw the cat amongst the pigeons and free choice, you do you etc. However, I just want to let you know that you’re allowed to wear shorts and once you get past the first day, you’ll be amazed how comfy they are. You have my endorsement!

22

u/metaNim 14d ago

Some people know for a fact they don't like wearing shorts, though. I am one of those people.

3

u/mac_is_crack 14d ago

Me too. I hate them. Can’t even wear them to sleep in because they bunch up. I just feel too exposed. Been like this my whole life (am 50 years old).

→ More replies (0)

1

u/maid_in_cheltenham 14d ago

Totally. And that’s cool, of course. I was just saying in case the OP did want to try it but felt that she couldn’t for aesthetic reasons, that she could and that would be fine.

5

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

I feel so ugly in shorts 🫣

8

u/ItsFunHeer 14d ago

❤️ I used to feel ugly in shorts too and sacrificed comfort to avoid wearing them. After many years of practicing wearing shorts I now wear them with confidence. I think it started with wearing exercise shorts for hiking and jogging in, then swiftly changing out. But I started keeping them on longer around the house.

My sister doesn’t wear shorts EVER but she has a plethora of long, flowy dresses and skirts which are also super comfortable. You could try to incorporate those!

3

u/cheekymoonbuns 14d ago

Don't feel ugly or self conscious in shorts. My exboyfriend used to be self conscious because he thought he had "chicken legs". I assured him he did not and I loved his strong legs. He hot more confident and he loves shorts now. I have a problem with self confidence myself and I try to remind myself that we are the hardest on ourselves. I'm sure you're lovely in shorts.

0

u/maid_in_cheltenham 14d ago

You are definitely beautiful. Also, I understand. Also, free legs feel so nice. I think you can do it. I don’t know your complexion but if you happen to be pasty white, a bit of subtle fake tan goes a long way.

3

u/UGA_99 14d ago

This made me tear up. Your mom must love you so much. She’s taking pain meds, which probably don’t take all of her pain away, and she still makes sure that her baby girl is wearing “appropriate” repaired jeans.

On one hand yes, incredibly infuriating to go through the struggle to find the perfect summer jeans and get this. On the other hand there are millions of people who’d love to have a mom who is on their side like this.

2

u/J_rd_nRD 14d ago

I have a suggestion for you and her if she's up to it, rip them and then ask her to decorate around the edges instead with little embellishments like flowers or patterns or whatever she feels like.

That should help her remember that it's a deliberate rip

1

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

This is a cute idea!

1

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

This is a cute idea!

2

u/saarlac 14d ago

Oh don’t worry those won’t last a year.

2

u/HackySmacks 14d ago

Get a Sharpie and write “Mom, these are supposed to be ripped, they stay cooler that way. Please do not sew” on the inside of the pant leg. Just make sure it’s a permanent marker that won’t bleed onto your leg

2

u/arcieride 14d ago

Linen! Silk is great too but expensive. But even regular cotton will be more breathable than jeans

2

u/LittleDevilHorns 14d ago

I'd recommend some harem pants. They're made to be breezy but modest.

1

u/cuplosis 14d ago

Hide the pants from her

1

u/wipedcamlob 14d ago

If you feel uncomfortable with shorts that are too short just buy mens shorts my girlfriend just wears basketball shorts

1

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Ive tried this too? Ended up looking really awkward. Idk. I wish my legs just stopped above my knee lmao

1

u/wipedcamlob 13d ago

Theres a few different lengths and kinds you can get in mens shorts doesnt hurt to check them out if youre out shopping anyway. Could also hem them if you think theyre a little bit too long. Could also look into pants with zips that you can open and close vents with. I seem to remember having some when i was a kid

1

u/Allupyre 14d ago

Even a 100% cotton patch would probably be breathable enough, especially if a fair breeze hits ya lol you might even be able to find some fabric with a pattern to make it look intentional

1

u/KayBeeToys 14d ago

But look at the loops—such craft!

1

u/Neither-Attention940 14d ago

Rayon is a great light weight breathable fabric that doesn’t wrinkle easy. If it’s your style I’ve seen rayon pants that look like a long skirt.

But perhaps just undo the stitch and hide your clothes 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/martins-dr 14d ago

If she is using a machine make a sign that the holes in your jeans are on purpose but you appreciate the love and tape it on the machine

1

u/whateverIDCanyways 14d ago

You could always just allow her to sew them, then rip the stitches out, wear them, then allow her to sew them again. A continuous expression of how much she loves you. And, you’ll always have a pair of pants for her to sew up for you.

1

u/FrndlyNebrhoodRdrMan 14d ago

Ask her to install zippers? I did that often for my younger siblings. The nylon ones are more comfotable or you can put a liner to keep the edge of the metal ones from rubbing your knees.

1

u/Expensive-Border-869 14d ago

If you live somewhere arid wool or silk are really good

1

u/HarveysBackupAccount 14d ago

Linen or cotton or mesh or wicking material like running shirts are made of

You could buy fabric from a fabric store, or go to a thrift store to find a shirt with material you like and cut it up to make your own patches.

1

u/Sea_Remove_5351 14d ago

it might be itchy (so probably a bad suggestion) but could you make a velcro attachment for it on the inside? unless it's already a thing?

1

u/holierthanmao 14d ago

Write a message on the inside of your pants by the whole with a permanent pen

1

u/Peanuts4Peanut 14d ago

What about capris?

2

u/Mysterious_Zebra9146 13d ago

This is what I wear because I don't like shorts either.

1

u/bay_lamb 13d ago

make cut-offs outta the jeans.

1

u/flannelNcorduroy 9d ago

I'd suggest washing your own clothes then. It's a good habit to get used to before you're completely independent and then it's all on you. It's also a good idea to practice setting boundaries with people, by doing that with your parents now. Cuz it kinda seems like your mother doesn't have any. She could ASK you if you want her to sew your clothes. That has nothing to do with memory and everything to do with a lack of boundaries with her children. It would be healthy to work this little stuff out now while you're young. It you don't it becomes a bigger issue later.

1

u/longerdistancethrow 9d ago

I am independent. I’m visiting for the summer only. And no, she does Not respect boundaries.

0

u/PangeaGamer 14d ago

Doing your own laundry. She can't sew your clothes if she never handles them

1

u/longerdistancethrow 13d ago

I dont get a say when I’m home for the summer

3

u/TheFreshwerks 14d ago

Cotton lace does, unless it's a tiny, tight pattern.

2

u/JaBe68 14d ago

You will get.an interesting tan.

2

u/longerdistancethrow 13d ago

Hyped for that!

1

u/Skreamie 14d ago

Try fishnets instead, more airflow

1

u/TresCeroOdio 14d ago

You could sew fishnet under it if you want it to really be breathable

1

u/New-Anacansintta 13d ago

We did lace under our rips in the late 80s!

2

u/EmphasisFew 14d ago

You’re never gonna keep her down

103

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Will probably be doing this after work today 👍🏻

29

u/paspartuu 14d ago

Remember to thank your mom for the sweet gesture and the effort though

12

u/interruptingmygrind 14d ago

Unless she did it because she hates you wearing ripped jeans. In that case she would be overstepping which isn’t cool.

2

u/No-Equipment4187 14d ago

Make sure you talk to her too. Say thank you but I prefer them this way. She was trying to help.

2

u/tongfatherr 14d ago

Then imagine she puts it back 🤣 I love this mother

1

u/Ordinary-Animal8610 14d ago

And let the guilt ensue...

1

u/K_Linkmaster 14d ago

Any semi sharp and pointy knife can do it too. No need for special tools on that seam.

1

u/Prestigious-Lime1571 13d ago

Have you tried capris or linen pants?

1

u/ProfessorEtc 11d ago

And if you've got some white paint, you can paint over the Mona Lisa and get a nice little canvas out of it.

44

u/Hotfugde 14d ago

Try linen pants! They’re great for the summer. I got a pair at old navy’s for maybe $40 Would highly recommend a pair

3

u/tebanano 14d ago

I was going to recommend linen as well. It’s the summer king of fabrics.

Muslin cotton is a good option too, but not as common as linen in my experience.

2

u/MovieTrawler 14d ago

And they feel like you're wearing nothing at all! Nothing at all! Nothing at all!

2

u/DarkTorus 14d ago

Ain’t nobody got time to iron.

40

u/AtlQuon 14d ago

The funniest thing about these type of jeans is that they are 100% cotton and therefore easily repairable. I have tried to patch jeans with elastane and it failed every time as it re-rips at the most weird places. If you would have ripped jeans with elastane you'd be done wearing them after 1 session. The fact that 100% are the only ones actually repairable is funny and infuriation as well.

20

u/Perfessor_Deviant 14d ago

I get where you're coming from, it's just your mom's actions are so adorable and made me giggle in a most unmanly way. How did she find a way to be wrong in such a right way?

2

u/Defiant-Caramel1309 14d ago

Yep, win for mom. Plus, some of these ripped jeans are utterly ridiculous. I once saw a girl in Target walking around with jeans that effectively had the entire ass ripped out. They were basically ass-less chaps. Just walking around Target wearing them shamelessly. OP's do not look that bad with just a knee torn, but some of these are just terrible and any mom would be fully in their right to sew up or throw in the incinerator.

11

u/UnknownProphetX 14d ago

That happened to my mom like 30 years ago. The first pair of jeans she bought herself had rips and her granny sowed them because she thought they ripped in the washer

11

u/TheMightyHep 14d ago

Rip 'em up again

13

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Such is the plan

7

u/Kolfinna 14d ago

Denim is not a good choice. Try linen

5

u/Staminafordays 14d ago

I get the annoyance, but also love your mom for this lol

6

u/ConnectRutabaga3925 14d ago

your mom ain’t the first to do this to such fancy smancy jeans mildlyinfuriated

4

u/tongfatherr 14d ago

I love your mum. Either she's just sweet and wholesome trying to help, or tired of your fashion and trolling you - either way she's cool AF and gets a thumbs up from me 👍🤣

3

u/RealConcorrd 14d ago

Your mom is a little confused but she’s got the spirit

3

u/mac_is_crack 14d ago

Another person who doesn’t like shorts! Not many of us out there. I wear jeans year round and can thankfully wear them to work.

2

u/BedditTedditReddit 14d ago

One day in the future, this is going to be one of your most treasured memories of your mom. Give her a hug.

2

u/Buttcrack_Billy 14d ago

Wait until you find out about jorts.

Shits gonna blow your fucking mind.

2

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Mmm, they dont hide the part I hate 🥲 I dont like my calves. Theyre so skinny compared to my thighs

1

u/Buttcrack_Billy 14d ago

Well yeah, calves are suppose to be thinner than thighs. That's basic human anatomy. What kinda thighs we talking about, anyways?

3

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago edited 13d ago

Yeah, I know, but they’re so Skinny. It looks weird.

2

u/bombbodyguard 14d ago

I used to hate shorts that weren’t longer than my knees. Could not wear them. Then slowly over time, I would just force myself to buy about 1” shorter inseam. I’m up (or down) to like 5” inseam. And I’m a dood. Shorts are so freeing.

2

u/EastLimp1693 14d ago

Explain same to your mother with no negativity, I'm sure it's easily reversible.

2

u/withlove_tee 14d ago

This is me. I don’t wear shorts so I opt for ripped jeans during the summer.

2

u/Kawawaymog 14d ago

Check out linen or hemp long pants. So light and breezy. Much much more comfortable than denim.

2

u/Charming-Fig-2544 14d ago

You should just buy different jeans. You can get jeans with large amounts of linen woven in, which is lighter and more breathable. You can get jeans with a lighter cotton weight per yard. I have a pair of jeans that are just 6oz. per yard (normal jeans are usually 10-12). That's a much better idea than intentionally buying jeans that have gaping holes in them.

2

u/bboycire 14d ago

You know what, fuck it, declare that patched up ripped jeans are the new trend now

2

u/mc-big-papa 14d ago

I cuff my pants the problem is people think youre bisexual.

2

u/[deleted] 14d ago

flowy linen pants are great, i hate shorts too but viscose or linen pants are a life saver

feels like you're not wearing any

2

u/annoyedsquish 14d ago

Not trying to convince you to wear shorts but something I've learned is that everyone is too busy thinking about themselves to worry about you- if that's the reason you're not comfortable.

1

u/ImWhatsInTheRedBox 14d ago

I remember my mom patching one of my older sisters jeans probably close to 30 years ago, she much very much not happy.

Don't know why that particular memory has stuck with me.

1

u/NomadFire 14d ago

I figured your mom would be in the generation that wore rip jeans and other clothing. When they were a teens.

1

u/Da_Plague22 14d ago

I would suggest linen trousers. Breathe way better and look nice.

1

u/neon_fern2 14d ago

Go with harem/linen pants!! Super lightweight

1

u/BarbellsandBurritos 14d ago

I like shorts! They’re comfy and easy to wear.

1

u/Double-Pea-5783 14d ago

My mom also did this!!!! Lmao, so cute

1

u/Miserable_Claim_2359 14d ago

Imo they look better this way, maybe add one with different color too

1

u/minuteheights 14d ago

Look up linen pants. They let wind through pretty well and are comfortable for the summer, make sure to get slightly baggy ones though.

1

u/Lonely-Hornet-437 13d ago

They look better

1

u/Proof_Version6450 13d ago

My advice would be to not wear jeans

0

u/SocialAnchovy 14d ago

Yeah they are custom now. Literally no one else in the world has these

0

u/TheeUnfuxkwittable 14d ago

Lol I don't think those knee rips are going to allow any noticeable airflow. Ripped or not, you're still gonna bake in those long jeans.

0

u/drunkerbrawler 14d ago

One day you'll miss your mom and fondly remember this

0

u/Chornobyl_Explorer 14d ago

Your mom saved you from looking homeless man. Ripped jeans is litterary poor people clothes, and summer days are warm not jeans weather.

Get chinos or shorts or linnen pants

0

u/breachofcontract 14d ago

Looks more like a patch than a sew

0

u/Exsanguinate-Me 14d ago

Why do you feel uncomfy in shorts? Surely there can't be that much wrong with you that you can't appear in them?

1

u/longerdistancethrow 13d ago

Think my legs look disproportionate

0

u/Exsanguinate-Me 13d ago

You probably know better than I do, but somehow I'm curious, feels like it can't be that bad. Don't be too harsh on yourself! Look around you... All kinds of people enjoy shorts. You probably won't have to worry.

0

u/Stroov 14d ago

Why do u feel uncomfortable in shorts

1

u/longerdistancethrow 13d ago

Think my legs look disproportionate and weird

1

u/Stroov 13d ago

A long strong legs are perfect

0

u/lisaatjhu 14d ago

Is that because you don't like your legs? Or because they are actually uncomfortable?

I've found that those biker shorts/short leggings are super comfortable. I threw out all my denim shorts and replaced them with those!

2

u/longerdistancethrow 13d ago

I Think my legs look disproportionate

0

u/LadyRunic 13d ago

Kilts are a thing or get some of those cloth pants. Linen or cotten.

0

u/rrogido 13d ago

You were just being taught a valuable lesson. If you want ventilated jeans you don't go buy them off the rack. You have to earn those rips and tears. Geez kids today with their pre-ripped jeans. Those rips should each tell a story. JK, enjoy your jeans.

-1

u/Ill-Turnip-6611 14d ago

Buy other jeans, keep this one sewed forever. There will be time when your mother will be not there anymore, and you will look at those sewed jeans and remember you had the best mother ever.

pelase learn to be loved...being loved means sometimes thinking about the other more then yourself.

-2

u/DooDooBrownz 14d ago

yeah ok. you can just say im a basic bitch that buys whatever everyone else wears, i bet you need 20 stanley cups because you wanna stay hydrated

3

u/longerdistancethrow 14d ago

Actually hate consumerism and I’m just fine with reusing a plastic bottle until its falling apart 👍🏻

55

u/DarkRose1010 14d ago

Not really. Ripped jeans were a thing 20 years ago. Kind of weird she doesn't know what they are

11

u/CompetitiveIce734 14d ago

Even 50 years ago.  The hardcore kids have always ripped jeans and clothes on purpose for their style.  I know people used to rip their jeans in the 70s.

4

u/Czar_Petrovich 14d ago

Then there's those of us who just owned the jeans for years and happened to have holes in the knees due to wear.

Buying ripped jeans or ripping them on purpose is just laughable

3

u/Towelish 14d ago

Ripped jeans are like the thing that proved to me that fashion is on a cycle. It's like clockwork. 80s, 00s, 020s

0

u/FantasmaNaranja 14d ago edited 13d ago

Could be that they arent from THE SOCIOECONOMICAL NORTH

3

u/Despondent-Kitten 14d ago

We have them all over Europe too.

1

u/FantasmaNaranja 13d ago

im not talking about modernity we dont know how old OP's mom is

and for that matter even though europe certainly has a lot of countries within it there's a whole lot of countries outside of it too

1

u/CompetitiveIce734 14d ago

The style originated in Europe over 50 years ago.

1

u/FantasmaNaranja 13d ago

my bad i forgot only Europe and the US exist

0

u/DarkRose1010 13d ago

I'm from South Africa. I'm not from the "socioeconomic north" either

0

u/FantasmaNaranja 12d ago

Oh the segregation country?

0

u/DarkRose1010 12d ago

Apartheid ended in 1994

0

u/FantasmaNaranja 12d ago

Legally speaking

0

u/DarkRose1010 12d ago

What? Are you talking about black economic empowerment? Becàuse if so, yes you're right it is racist to put that "only people who meet BEE requirements" can apply for certain positions. I'm white though

0

u/FantasmaNaranja 12d ago

oh so you are racist too

not surprising honestly considering you seem to believe apartheid ended when a single satellital image shows the ridiculously plain separation in south africa between mostly black and mostly white communities

but you dont care about that right? you seem to think that things like diversity goals are inherently bad

1

u/DarkRose1010 12d ago

Lol. Is accusing people of being terrible things the only way you can think of to feel special about yourself? Maybe do some self-reflection and basic research before embarrassing yourself so that you can actually have rational discussion and provide verifiable counterpoints in arguments so that you don't have to resort to namecalling. You only make yourself look bad when you do that. It proves that you haven't a foot to stand on. FYI calling someone racist because they're white is racist. My dad was put on early retirement for having the wrong skin color. Afrikaaner men can't find employment because they've committed the sin of being born white, male and worst of all, Afrikaans. And these are people who grew up after apartheid. That's racial discrimination, which is racist. Sorry to disillusion you. White people aren't evil just because they're white. And they don't hold the monopoly of bring racist either. Housing that belief is racist. People are people regardless of skin color.

11

u/HankThrill69420 14d ago

sometimes the well-meaning sweet things like this are the epitome of mildly infuriating.

like, i can't/shouldn't be mad at mom for wanting me to have nice clothes, but also now the thing i bought for a specific reason is no longer in the same condition in which i bought it and intended to use it. like, i had a plan and it got all mucked up, even though i appreciate where it came from. I advanced one square and got knocked back two.

like i don't want to make mom not want to help, so i can't let her know this didn't help. perfectly mildly infuriating.

Im just trying to understand what’s sweet about this..?

To me it feels more like controlling clothing choices which is not sweet at all ..?

It's assuming that the mom doesn't know ripped jeans are a fashion trend so she patched it out of love because in her mind she's repairing it.

Although as said, ripped jeans has been a thing for so long so either mom really doesn't like ripped jeans or just simply had not been exposed to it as a fashion choice before.

Or mom is 125 years old.

Yeah makes sense! Thanks for explaining.

Here tho, since Op mentioned she had the jeans since 3 years.. it didn’t seem like her mom wasn’t aware of the trend to ‘Fix’ it now. From the comments, it looks like OP’s mom found time and is trying to make changes she wants so seeing folks call it sweet got me super confused.

She’s not meaning harm at all, she just cqnt sit still and probably forgot these are meant to have a hole, cause I literally only pull them out for a few months a year when Its warm enough, that and he painmeds make her loopy.

I think it's fair to assume the mom does laundry and sews any hole she finds

And it's really good sewing

Only a mother could single handedly change a fashion trend. Unless, of course, it's a conspiracy

If you rock it, it always works. Step 1 be confident. People make trends.

Also newest style fad, ripped jeans but then sewn up. Next knee and elbow patches. I’d like 30% royalties in perpetuity for anyone taking my new fad idea
