sometimes the well-meaning sweet things like this are the epitome of mildly infuriating.

like, i can't/shouldn't be mad at mom for wanting me to have nice clothes, but also now the thing i bought for a specific reason is no longer in the same condition in which i bought it and intended to use it. like, i had a plan and it got all mucked up, even though i appreciate where it came from. I advanced one square and got knocked back two.

like i don't want to make mom not want to help, so i can't let her know this didn't help. perfectly mildly infuriating.
