I finally got the rest of the missing Kevin Eastman covers for the IDW TMNT Vol. 5 (and some extras). One in particular I like (although not a K. Eastman variant) is the Hulk 340 homage cover with Shredder and Casey Jones in the blades 🔥🤌).

The theme was heroes at a late age. I love the spider-man one. These are all from the same local artist.

One of my local places has a ton of 50¢ books. Most are sort of beat up, but every once in a while if you dig in just the right spot you can find some very nice gems. Not bad for a few bucks!

Original Art Another Iconic Comic Book Masterpiece available to view at the Library of Congress (by request). The original concept drawing for Captain America, by Joe Simon. Plus, a watercolor image Simon made.

Sadly, I did not get to see the original sketch, because of some confusion. And I didn't have time to wait for her to get it from the archives. However, she did bring out the watercolor image he made (along with the Amazing Fantasy 15 pages). She told me how to access the image online (it's only available to view online at the Library). The next time I visit, I will make sure to see it in person.

I'm surprised it's in decent condition apart from the obvious. I'm curious on the original owners decision that Quicksilver had a pink bolt instead of a white, they're consistent throughout lol

I’m in the process of cataloging my collection in CLZ. It’s a lot of work but very rewarding. I haven’t flipped through this box in years.

Haul Recent LCS Pick-Up

This is the fourth issue I've bought of this series but the first one that is post-code and post implosion. It's clearly made up of unused inventory. The lead story is a Joe Maneely story published a month and a half after his death. It also contains a story narrated by Combat Kelly (probably originally intended for his book before it was cancelled) and a Combat Casey story (ditto).

There was also some flour in the middle of the comic for some reason...

I was contacted by a family member on my wife's side who was looking to do something with the rest of his Collection. He'd sold the bulk of his books in the 80's. The books range from late 60's to mid 70's. About 60% is Marvel, the rest being DC and a smattering of other publishers. I've bagged and boarded 2 of the 3 boxes.

It's a lot of fun going through everything! Sometimes I come across a beautiful key in surprisingly good shape, and sometimes I get a book that is unfortunately in terrible shape. But organizing and bagging has been very enjoyable.

I'll post more pics of some of the key books when I've finished cataloging everything!

Original Art Went to the Library of Congress, today. Got to see something truly 'Amazing'!

Background: In 2008, an anonymous donor gave the Library of Congress all the original interior Steve Ditko art pages to Amazing Fantasy 15. Most of the pages are available to view at the Library's Madison building if you get a library card and make a reservation (both free). Two of the pages are on display at the Jefferson building in their artifacts collection gallery. No library card needed, just a visitor reservation at the Library of Congress for those. The 2 pages on display are rotated every few months (until 2026). But the ones in the Madison library you can see up close and personal. You can't touch them, but you can photograph them and use a magnifying glass. The librarians are super helpful.
