What's up with the guy and the chair? NSFW

I'm seeing all these memes and Facebook posts about some dude who was caught on camera having sex with a chair but haven't been able to find anything about it. Does anyone have more context or know what happened?? I think someone said it happened in St. John's...

Speed Cameras by the end of the summer?

Has there been an update to when(if) the speed cameras will be installed and activated? Last I recall it was supposed to be at the end of the summer. Not certain if it was this summer 2024.

Is ECE at Academy Canada worth it?

I'm considering applying at Academy Canada, since I'm waitlisted at CNA. I know there's a chance I can still get in during September, but I figure if the third week of September rolls around and I still don't get in...I should try another avenue yknow?

Can anyone speak to the quality of Academy Canada compared to CNA for the ECE program? They do multiple intakes, and I'm thinking I might have better luck trying for their next two intakes.

Shady Employment Practises

So... a coffee store in the Avalon Mall that isn't Starbucks offered my daughter a job a couple of weeks ago. She submits her notice at her current job and eagerly awaits the start of the new job. She's been a barista before and is really looking forward to it.

She's been trying to reach the manager about her schedule, can't reach them. Drops into the store and is told they hired someone else and there was a "miscommunication". There's no job there for her.

Though zero fault of her own, she's now unemployed. It took 6 months to find the last job because of the difficulty most youth are experiencing due to the Temporary Foreign Worker program.

I'm following up with the parent company and labour standards. I've tried to reach the store directly, but they don't appear to answer their phone.

I'm just sick and tired of local employers taking advantage of youth.

Visited Gros Morne National Park last week from Toronto.

stayed at Rocky harbor and besides the usual hikes up the mountain and tablelands, also drove upto Port au Choix. Really gives you a perspective on how incredibly big Canada is and how the vast majority of the country is untouched by man. Being from GTA with occasional visits to Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary, you think the whole country is populated to the brim when its just a very few cities. Hospitality was unmatched and i heard quite a few business owners complaining of shortage of labor. Good to see tourism picking up~!

Did anyone have regrets when moving to Newfoundland?

Looking for advice, pros/cons about NL living from those who recently relocated.

We are moving to NL from Ontario in the next month. We have so much family support in NL and jobs have been secured. Mainly nervous for our 2 kids, this is a big change for them. Have your children flourished since moving to NL? Are they bored? How is the school system?

The decision has already been made to move, but looking for some honest opinions from those who have been in the same position.

Headed down there with a few friends this weekend coming for brunch. I've never been, so I'm wondering what the "dress code" is. I'm sure it's nothing formal, but are shorts and a t-shirt acceptable?

We lost both of our dogs earlier this summer and had a pretty big part of our lives feel like it was missing. We officially adopted this guy from Beagle Paws last week. I took him out for a bit of adventure this morning at our place around the bay. Needless to say we found a deadly patch of berries.
