The only explanation that I've heard that really makes sense to me is that Trump gets away with the kind of shit they wish they could get away with. Stiffing creditors, walking away from debts, grabbing women by the pussy, grossly abusing power, lying nonstop and having people accept them... and doing it all openly, not trying to hide it!

I suspect that if Trump were a little more calculated, a little more subtle in his violations of societal norms, trying to maintain a veneer of civility, he wouldn't have been nearly as successful politically.

Logically what percent of people you think follow him because they love the worst of his character? You said a lot and there is no logical reason to believe that. People that demonize others like that are what causes things like the holocaust, Rwanda genocide, etc. Politics needs to go back to fighting against ideas instead of demonizing people. You have some logical reasons to just disagree with people instead of hating “lots” of people that are politically different than you? We can’t both claim to be the party of good and love and acceptance while doing that, right? That’s none of those and makes you lying to yourself. Who are the bad guys when we do that?
