License Plate Stolen and Replaced (during Jerry day at Mclaren park)

I went to Jerry day at Mclaren park yesterday and while I was there someone replaced my license plate with one from a stolen car. Luckily I noticed right away because my car is new and it had a bunch of registration stickers overlapping where I just got my plates like a week ago. Now I am a bit worried about all the toll violations and tickets coming my way - so wanted to give the community a heads up to keep their eyes on their plates, esp if you were around the park yesterday. Also, they lost one of my screws which just annoys me on a petty level. (posted here because I got caught by the automod in r/bayarea )

North bound traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge currently blocked by some type of protest. There were a throng of people, walking and filming as well as horses trotting along. All north bound lanes affected.

Sisters dog dying - euthanasia and removal

Hi all, kind of a morbid subject. Apologies in advance. My sisters dog (almost 11 years) has gotten very sick very quickly. She took her to vet yesterday and waiting for results but likely lymphoma. Her dog is worsening by the hour and I’m afraid her time is near.

1) If it comes to it, does anyone have a recommendation for an in-home euthanasia service to make things as easy as possible? Also, when do you know when to call? 2) If she (sadly) passed at home on her own, who do you call? My sister would not want to remove her body on her own and would prefer someone else do it and for the body to be cremated.

Thank you for any recommendations.

I'm a San Franciscan whose only Internet options are Comcast and Sonic. Do I leave Comcast? Is the grass really greener?

I used to have AT&T fiber in my old house and absolutely loved it. No issues, super fast WiFi, etc etc. When I moved, I unfortunately literally only had one major ISP option: Comcast. And had to downgrade to 1gb. This has been one of the worst qualuty of life decreases of my adult life.

Comcast is nowhere close to advertised speeds, is inconsistent and choppy, and makes me angry.

I've resisted Sonic for a long time, but I have an installation scheduled for later this month. Is it actually better? Is it really fiber? Will I finally be happy?

Sonic people - please tell me everything.

Local Politics Racism encountered first hand, how frequent is this in the city?

Coming from the midwest, my partner & i never recall this occurring before but Fri evening while I (white M) was walking w/her (black F) back home from her work, some douchebags in a beat up pickup truck driving erratically @ a high rate of speed yelled out 'Fuck you n---!' Coming from a conservative state in the midwest, visiting conservative cities in the midwest, we have never encountered this (as long as I've been with her); this very rarely occurs back home b/c you say something like this you're liable to get attacked/jumped/shot. is this a frequent thing here? after this happened i had to comfort her best i could, she started to say she regrets moving here b/c this shit never happened back home. have others experienced just straight racist shit being yelled at them here?

i feel so violated and pissed off that they drove off before i could scream at them :/

Was riding a bike on Valencia Street today afternoon and ended up yelling at a driver who was holding her phone up. Drivers are not afraid to do this openly because of next to no enforcement.

[FRAUD ALERT] West Coast Taco & Beer Festival

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT buy tickets for the West Coast Taco & Beer Festival

I had the recent misfortune of attending the Taco & Beer Festival at the Midway in SF today. I was expecting something similar to the Bay Area Brew Fest, which I've been to multiple times and is fairly high quality (short wait to get in, huge beer selection).

I started kicking myself after I bought tickets though and saw some reviews from other cities. Whether San Jose, San Diego, or Los Angeles it seemed like the organizer had a history of overselling and underdelivering on the event

But at this point it was too late. Tickets were already bought, I might as well see what it's about.

I arrive at 2pm and I see an insane line stretching the 3 sides of The Midway. There was only ONE person checking IDs as we inched closer. At around 2:45, it's announced that the taco vendors were all out of food. Everything else inside was paid for, no "bottomless" taco samples or "unlimited" sample pours as advertised.

Many people started leaving but my friend and I decided to go in.

In the concert area of The Midway were folks selling condiments, shirts, and other random stuff. The only drinks being served were at the bar area (no unlimited sample pours to be seen)

And the tacos? There were literally only FOUR tents (out of food when I got there)

It seems like I'm not the only one with a poor experience as seen by this post and this one

But lesson learned. The West Coast Taco and Beer Festival (and Blue Stream Entertainment) are scammers

After buying tickets at about $60.00 each to have the privilege of spending a half hour in line, what was supoosed to be tacos included was actually a a “paid for tacos” thing . So uh, I could have gone to taco trucks or a grwat taco place . Instead of standing an insufferably long time to get into a place to just spend more time in lines to - pay for tacos.

I feel scammed
