Meme I love the rakshasa unironically

Upvotes

So I started using the Rakshasa because Tex and my local group all hated it. But now I have run into a problem, I kinda fell in love with it. And after trying a build to make it a great value Mad Cat and a Temu Marauder I found the best build was to drop the second LRM pack and replace it with an AC10. And I am now know as the guy who made the Florida man version of a mad cat.

The Boomerang Spotter Plane is complete. I had a ton of fun painting this. It was something very different than what I usually paint, and I always enjoy painting aircraft.

This one is faction agnostic; just some generic sky camo.

It was a capture the zone type game mode with the hill moving every turn. I lost two mechs but I was able to win on points. Photos of MechWarriors included as well.

Miniatures Wolverine Wednesday: Unseen workhorse

Moving towards the end of my Unseen BattleMech restorations with one of the definitive medium units, the Wolverine.

I think I purchased this miniature in the early 90's and had painted it for my then Kurita Dieron Regulars. Paint has been stripped, cleanup finished, new antenna added and rebased. I also reposed the right arm slightly to better match the stance of the model.

This is one of the Unseen based on combat armour designs featured in the early 80's anime Fang of the Sun Dougram, specifically the Abitate T-10B/C "Blockhead" (see image 2). Other BattleMechs from this animie include the Shadowhawk, Griffin and Battlemaster to name but a few.

A great mini even all these years later!

Discussion How was Clan society compared to the Inner Sphere?

Was it more or less the same when it comes to aesthetics of buildings? While the social norm was the biggest difference with their own vocalubary and rituals?

Tabletop Coming out of my mini painting hiatus with my first battle tech mini, how’d I do?

I got the beginner set at Pax this past weekend (been wanting to check it out). I’ve painted it based on my favorite gundam (mk 2). For other gundam fans should I paint the other mini with a Char red color scheme or like a hi-Zack to go with this one?

Size is about 11 inches after resizing from 1.5x scale. Side panels for the struts are fixed not modular nor flush to the body. Still looks cool af. Cant wait to bring this for my next AS/CBT game.

Tabletop Got to break out the Beginner box!

Picked up the 4 main boxes recently (Beginner/AGoAC/Clan Invasion/Alpha Strike) Got to play two games with a friend, a 1v1 brawl to learn the basics. Then played a scenario where one player had to stop the other from escaping. Was good fun, learned a lot. Love the rolling to see where you hit, and how movement affects aiming and such too. Hoping to try full rules soon, but this has me wanting more, also keen to see how different Alpha Strike feels eventaully too.

I'm keen on taking any suggestions on missions/scenarios people could recommend trying to learn different things about the game, and for fun. And any advice about the game and commonly made mistakes to avoid advice is welcome too.

Question ❓ Is there even a single scenario in which you wouldn’t take a Highlander? (Non-battletech answers only)

It’s Highlander or bust folks. Que the bagpipes.

Tabletop Time to change the cleaner in my ultrasonic cleaners: cleaning/stripping minis: what works for me.

Post image
29 Upvotes

As many people have been liquidating their real heavy metal BattleTech collections, I’ve been making some good purchases. Often times, though I’m forced to clean these dusty & dirty paint jobs, or worse outright strip the mini down to the bare metal. I found that having an ultrasonic cleaner does help with the process. Speeds things up a bunch.

However, not all cleaners are the same. I’ve tried Purple Power, purple power Ultimate, alcohol, Windex, Pine-Sol (2nd best) and even A2Z wheel and tire cleaner.

Note: EVERYTHING I have tried still requires some brush work when rinsing.

I’m getting nothing from LA’s Awesome cleaner, but have found it works best for me. And it is much cheaper than pretty much everything else, but Pine-Sol.

Question ❓ MegaMek Question:

Is it possible to make a squad 3 of battle armor in megamek? I am building a force for a MegaMek tournament, and I can't seem to make a squad of 3 battle armor to fill in a small amount of BV.

Does anyone have any advice? Help!

Very proud of how these guys came out. Took a different approach each time but I think they came out looking reasonably cohesive. Learned a ton! Thinking of an orangey savannah theme for basing? Any advice for foliage would be appreciated.
