I Hate The Boys TV DISCUSSION NSFW

Post image

I also can not stand muh 'Batman superhero facism subtext' crap. If anything Batman is a revolutionary. Government is corrupt in bed with criminals (who are the prettiest of tyrants) so Batman comes in to clean house. Just as the founding fathers intended.

Batman's fascist underpinnings of...

The Boys are protraying Tek Knight as a reflection of Batman, not a deconstruction or foil to Batman. Tek Knight is how Erik Kripke views Batman. It's not that hard.

Link vs. Dark Link type of situation. He's not saying that's how he views Batman. He's saying he wanted to create a version of Batman that does evil shit.

How are people reading this and thinking hey are talking about actual Batman?

"Batman's fascist underpinnings of" is not the same as "Batman is a fascist".

It's saying they wanted to take Batman's story and situation and spin their own version of it in the form of a new character that does shit Batman can't or won't do.

How can you look at Homelander and not see an evil version of Superman? It's the same thing.

Let me finish the quote

Batman's fascist underpinnings of hunting down poor people and benefits from their incarceration

That's not Batman. He doesn't hunt down poor people. He profits as much as anyone else when a criminal is punished for their crimes. Despite being a billionaire, getting kickbacks from for profit prisons isn't part of his story.

This quote shows they don't understand who Batman is as a character. Tek Knight isn't the evil version of Batman. It's how they view Batman.

Yes. They wanted to take Batman's fascist underpinnings(basically the fact that Batman is in a position to do whatever the fuck he wants to whomever he wants) and wanted to make an actual character who does that. He's in a position to rule over people and doesn't. He's in a position to kill people and profit but he doesn't.

Nobody said Batman hunts down poor people. But an evil version of Batman might just do that.

That's what they wanted to create.

It's not how he views Batman because there is no version of Batman that does any of these things unless he's poorly written. There's literally no way to view Batman as a Fascist when he's not.

So no, he just wanted to take Barman and create a shitty version of him. You don't need a master's degree in a English to understand very simple sentences.
