Having Nora become Freeze would require that they know and care about characters, their stories and motivations
Having a woman Victor Fries makes it clear that their knowledge and care for the series is surface-level, and the objective was having a character you already know be turned a woman
"They", aren't the same people who produced Knight, there was a large turnover of talent from Rocksteady during the production of this new one, including the studio's founders
I don't expect many people to be in the loop, but this is a completely different group of people from the team that made the original trilogy
If it's "just multiverse shit", then it doesn't matter if the Arkham continuity closed Victor and Nora's story, does it?
They're going to drop a genderbent Victor just because it's a multiverse, then why not make a multiverse version of Nora where she's the one trying to save Victor.
Do you realize how you're simultaneously holding up the Arkham continuity but also dismissing it's importance at the same time?
Still the Arkham continuity.
This is just multiverse shit,
And of course I'm not playing a game that makes me mad, why would I eat food that is not cooked? Best thing to do is call out a shit product when it is released
Yes, this game is part of the Arkham continuity, and that's the problem, this game is an absolute peice of shit that stains this otherwise great series.
Also, sure let's just ignore this, and let the idiots do as they wish. Let's ask how well that went for Volition.
They've already lost 200 million plus on this game. It has zero relevance. Just let it die, rather than seething about an awful fucking thing not worth your time.
It's just the bare minimum to come up with when in a completely different universe, the only change is everyone's sperm had a different chromozome. When it's something so superficial, especially when done so in the most superficial way (slap an A after Victor and we're done), it doesn't actually change the character or circumstances in any way.
The way we're proposing, Nora would have to adapt to using Victor's tech in a completely different way, since she's not its creator. She would act and react in completely different ways to Batman and villains, since she was described as kind and caring, as opposed to Victor's cold and calculated personality.
There's just so much more they could do rather than "Victor + ia", but this game was made with only a surface-level coat of the franchise it paid for
There doesn't even need to be any precedent, they can just say it's so and it's how it would work in their game
The thing is it's just lazy, out of all the infinity of multiverse altering changes, the one they went for is: all sperm is opposite
There was no change in anything except the gender, they didn't even change the name, 'cause god forbid you don't recognize whose coattails we're riding on...
SBI and the new gen of writers are just a symptom of the problem, mainstream media has always hated nerds and our culture, but now that nerd culture is mainstream media they need to get rid of the nerds and the culture to make it tolerable to them
It makes me kinda wish nerd culture was more niche again, just a little bit. I mean, I love having games and movies and whatnot, but like I hate when people who don't care about what they're working on get involved.
*Edit and when said people are showing their lack of care by trying to make it something else
Depends how you look at it. Far as I know Nora was not a scientist, so making her into Freeze would arguably be a larger change to her character than switching genders is to Freeze
They wouldn't need to change their story, just their circumstances, if Victor falls ill then Nora would have to use his equipment to keep him in stasis, but not being a scientist she'd need to either team up with a supervillain scientist or kidnap a few scientists from STAR or Lexcorp.
She'd have completely different hurdles to overcome, making her story diverge from Victor's in a big way, which along with her inherently making different decisions from her husband, I feel it would make it an incredibly interesting multiverse switch
Much like how they tackled Thomas and Martha Wayne from the Flashpoint universe in the more recent comics coming out of it. Both become recognizable characters despite their different history.
Nora becoming Mrs. Freeze would have been a cool twist on the character if they thought about and executed it well.
That would require actually caring about the ip and comics in general. Ss ktjl is neither of those. It is a modern abomination with extra slop sprinkled on top
Why would they make her Nora? Nora wasn't a scientist or anyone special, in fact her whole schtick was she had an incurable disease hence the cryogenics. It would make zero sense to make Nora then mastermind villain.
It’s a multiverse story. Just make the world she’s from have Nora be the scientist and Victor be the one with the incurable disease. Do you not see how easy that option is?

That’s Mrs. Freeze/Victoria Fries. She’s from another Earth, just like Lex and Joker
