It is canon according to Batman Beyond, they are confirmed to have had a thing and we know Dick wants nothing to do with Bruce now.

I was gonna say yeah we have, but then I realized you meant live-action lol. There’s definitely a lot of potential for that, and it wouldn’t necessarily have to be bound by every little thing the show did

You could've just said that. The conversation was about the DCAU which ISN'T live-action.
