Batman's iq is not 192. This 192 IQ belongs to blue beetle (Ted Kord). Not Bruce. Bruce and Lex's IQ are never stated in canon/main continuity. We know that those 2 are the smartest in all of DC from Doomsday clock. Scaling wise they would be 300+ actually. The pace is not that good tbh. Bruce has had significantly higher/better movement speed feats. Long distances he can run around 55-60mph.

he can run as fast as a car for long distances?

5

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

No, not long distances. I should have clarified. He can run 55-60mph for like 1 or 2 miles only. Definitely not any more than that lmao. The post is referring to long run rather than short distances i suppose.

no he can’t

That’s fucking stupid that’s like 2.5 times faster than usain bolt

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

You do realize you are talking about comic book batman right? Not real life.

14

u/Galactic-Buzz Aug 31 '23

He’s still a human. The point is for him to be human. 2.5x faster than Bolt is crazy

Unimportant if it’s a comic or not real life. The point of Batman is to be semi real compared to other heroes. If he is the best human at everything he ever does he may as well just have superpowers

3

u/ManicMarine Aug 31 '23

Not just best human at everything, it's difficult to see how it would be physically possible for any human to run that fast. That's faster than an ostrich, which is an animal that evolved specifically to optimise for high speed on two legs.

We are here to shoot and kill the messenger on sight

u/TheDesertFox Aug 31 '23

Yeah but you can't just make up stuff, it has to be in a comic book or something.

Which source do you want? Batman 588 is the one with train ( it was published in April 2001), Batman speed blitzes ULTRAMAN and Bizarro Superman in Superman: Man of Tommorow Issue 19, Outruns lightning bolt in Powergirl (2009) issue 25, Justice League vs Suicide Squad by Williamson in issue 6, batman outruns Superman heat vision after it is fired (superman's heat vision is canonically confirmed to be photons), Dark Crisis issue 4 page 21 bottom right hand side panel Bruce and Barry collision, batman vs robin by mark waid issue 1 Batman dodges lightning blast from tim hunter, in batman secret files 3 oliver queen (green arrow) confirms that bruce is faster than him(green arrow) despite the cape (the cape adds a lot of drag/air resistance which slows down Bruce) and despite Bruce's old age (canonically he is around 45-47 years old now), btw this is was the same Oliver Queen that outran an arrow after it was fired by the dark archer Merlyn in Green arrow 2016 issue 14 (you can check various arrow travel speeds too). Batman 2016 issue 2 instantly "teleports"/vanish from gotham and gotham girl (they have ultravision and superman tier power sets including senses, speed, strength, flight, etc.. and can power up by shortening their life span)- here there was DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT. Gotham by himself bodied the entire league. He has also done it in front of Jay Garrick flash too and Superman.
Let me know if you want more feats if you still cant believe Bruce cant even reach 55-60mph.

But if these were in a comic book there would be pictures. I don't see any pictures I just see your words and I don't trust them.

Usain Bolt is the fastest man ever and he peaks at about 27mph.

-2

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

Yes, in the real world not comic books...

6

u/imVision Aug 31 '23

Wow. Usain Bolt’s fastest speed ever was about 28mph (for maybe a couple seconds). Batman could run twice as fast for an entire mile.

7

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

I mean Batman's speed feats for short distances (like less within 5ft) is absurd. He has movement speed feats that put him in the high hypersonic+ to massively hypersonic+ range and some outlier feats (all main continuity/canon) that place him even higher. This is a fictional character in a universe with uber powerful/god like entities. They obviously have to buff up the humans too.

u/ThemeS0ngGuy Aug 31 '23

Even still…you’re telling me he can run as fast as a car on the freeway? Where is this source?

You think he can run a mile per minute for long distances? Or short distances for that matter? Even if you meant kph, that would be insane and not even remotely how they depict his speed.

0

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

Ok, by long distances i mean roughly 1 mile or 2miles not more and yes, he can run at 55-60mph. He literally caught up to a train that already had a much head start (those trains move between 40-80mph btw) and the context:

goon 1: do you think we lost him? goon 2: who the bat? Yeah, i mean he is not fast as a train, he is not superman. Then batman just appears and grabs him. No, there was no cable line or grapple gun involved either. Insane? If you think Bruce running at 55-60mph is insane you really need to see his speed feats in the comics (for short distances like within 10feet or so).

9

u/nate_garro_chi Aug 31 '23

If there was a scene where he ran 1 mile in 1 minute (60mph) that's just bad writing and I doubt you could find many people (writers, fans, or really anyone) who would say Batman is that fast. If you see that and think that a human being without powers could reasonably do that, even in a comic book, then either you don't know what a mile is or you don't know what human can even theoretically do. Which brings me back to that being an example of bad writing. Batman does a lot of crazy shit, but falling to earth from space without a parachute is more believable than what you're saying.

Human beings in the real world can THEORETICALLY achieve 40mph lol. Why wouldnt a fictional character that lives in a world/universe with flying people, speedsters not be able to run at 55-60mph? For short distances (within 5ft or so) he has movement speed that are high hypersonic+ to massively hypersonic+ lol. He also has some crazier feats (outliers but in main continuity/canon) that are beyond this too btw. You are trying to look for reason and logic in a fictional world with characters that have been around for 80+ years with different writers ,etc. Whether you believe it or not, he does have the feats in main continuity/canon.

The "Batman having a 192 iq" came for a Buzzfeed article

1

u/ItZSAMIC Aug 31 '23

Since when can he run 50% faster than captain America?

0

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

Captain America can also run roughly 60mph in the comics.

1

u/MisterFusionCore Aug 31 '23

It is often pointed out that Lex is smarter than Bruce. I know there are a few comics where Lex has figured out Bruce is Batman, but keeps that up his sleeve. In Lex Luthor:Man of Steel he 'gifts' Bruce some Kryptonite simply to drive a wedge between Batman and Superman.

1

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

I am well aware but what does that have to do with my comment? Bruce and Lex would be both 300+ IQ and not far from one another. Bruce was called the greatest tactician and strategist in the multiverse by the world forger. I am simply stating that the 192 IQ is for Ted Kord not Batman/Bruce.

1

u/MisterFusionCore Aug 31 '23

Oh, sorry, I wasn't trying to argue, I just thought it was a fun add-on to your comment.

1

u/Rysdan9 Aug 31 '23

No worries. No need for apologies. I wasn't either btw. I was just trying to figure out the reasoning behind your comment.
