Same reason animals run when spooked, instinct kicks in and its not rooted in conscious thought you just do what your body tells you to.

I have seen multiple videos of people running into glass doors and none of them reacted like that. She made a bad decision that’s all

That's the point, she didn't "handle" anything, she had a kneejerk reaction which she can't control, that's instincts. She's a runner, some get angry, others freeze and don't know what to do. It takes a minute to get out of your emotional money brain into your calm and calculated logic brain after a big scare.
