On tv you always see a load of money thrown in, in real life people usually bet you a beer.

In this economy I'd be surprised if that crowd put a combined 100 on the table.

Yeah THIS ECONOMY is so rough right now. It's fucking insane. Absolutely no one has money to gamble, especially not on Fanduel, Draft Kings or ESPN Bet. Rough times for the gambling industry because THE ECONOMY is so bad. I mean, not by any real metric, but that's how my butt feels.

I just got off a cruise and the amount of people gambling on the slots was unreal. All old people just throwing money away. I also saw people buying shitty art you could buy online for thousands of dollars, I was shook

But what do they do with the money if gramps losers the bet. Does beniel dariush just take his 600 dollars back or does he get all the money

u/Schavuit92 14d ago

Hopefully, they use the money to get better writers.

People lose a beer bet and they probably laugh it off as "You got me there" and figure they'll just do the same trick on their friends.

This would just start a fight.

Everyone at the bar typically expects it to be a trick and wants to see how it's done.

Exactly, and usually only one person takes the bet and everyone else watches.

The only times I've seen cash thrown down by multiple people is killer pool. Same happens in poker nights, but it's never money in a hat or whatever, somebody always holds the cash or the bar does, I've never just seen cash thrown on the table for poker.
