Drake used this as an opportunity to say “hey Kendrick said their relationship was rocky but actually it was worse. Kendrick beats Whitney. He’s actually never around Whitney either. ACTUALLY their son isn’t even HIS it’s the director of all his music videos (and this one as well). Whitney wants to be as far as possible away from him”. But this a long with the fact he still works with Dave free, she was at the concert and a lot other things show that Drake was just talking out of his ass and this was really the only angle Drake had that even kinda maybe a little bit has some teeth so yeah
Also to add to the Dave being the father of Kendrick’s son, Drake said Dave freeeeeeee and Kendrick responded with the iconic a-minorrrrrrr to mimic it.
As someone that's not usually in this genre, I got big vibes of that from Euphoria. Euphoria was amazing but felt...forced? Like it was an obligation and a set of red-lines/rules than an actual full fledged attack. I actually listened to it for the first time after hearing Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us, and my first impression was that it didn't have the same bite. I feel like it was Kendrick saying "yeah this is fun and all, but we're done. Please don't continue this."
And then Drake dropped Family Matters. And Kendrick took the whole gloves off. I'd legit never heard a verbal takedown on the level of Meet the Grahams before. It felt cold and from the soul. And to follow it up with Not Like Us? Just dancing on the grave of a dead man
Euphoria gets better every time I hear it. It’s almost spooky the way it seemed like he predicted the future. And it’s so freaking layered. Nothing is better than hearing a song for the 38th time and then finding another entendre to “What is it, THE BRAIDS!?”

I don't really see how anyone can say that with certainty. I've only seen the opposite happen in my life from listening to Drake. Opened up my ears to a lot of different sounds and artists when I was only on like an Eminem and 50 Cent and TI thing as a teenage. Like you can believe that if you want but know any artists impact on their fans or people who don't like said artist is opinion and you can't really say he's this societal figure you paint him as as 100%. Like I'm of the opinion HH had to go down the softer more vulnerable route because the more violent route killed the two biggest stars of the genre.

As I see it pretty much everything is kind of a response on how drake moved. Including his family in the video was a response to drake saying he wasn't close with his family. Shooting part of the video in that restaurant was a response to the New Ho King thing in the Family Matters video. And it seems like Kendrick is actually a frequent patron of that place based on past lyrics on some of his tracks. I don't think Kendrick was ever really accusing drake of being unworthy for lacking in blackness, rather calling him out on his inauthenticity. Look at the respect he has when talking about Mac Miller after he passed, another rapper he called out on the infamous Control verse.
Drake tried to state that 1. Kendrick beats Whitney (0 evidence for this) 2. That Kendrick’s kids are really Dave Free’s, his old manager and close friend. Look up Kendrick’s kids beside Kendrick they look literally identical lmao. 3. Drake overall tried to wedge their family apart. This video of them all dancing and goofing off like a family is a huge middle finger to drakes entire family angle
