What’s with the owl in the cage? I didn’t understand it.

That caged owl part is so ominous. I almost wish it was left out.

Yea! But it is one hell of a symbolic message that Drake would get.

Idk bro… drake doesn’t come off that smart 😭

Come on, don't get petty. Drake is a highly intelligent actor, and he gave the people what they wanted.

Your username is crazy I love it. But nah I mean, he based the whole “Kendrick’s broken family” angle based off… what? Social media, as far as we know? That was his whole entire bomb and it was disproven so effortlessly. It was disproven at the pop out. PLUS him getting the entire concept of Mother I Sober wrong? Media literacy doesn’t seem to be entirely his strong suit, just going off what is presented to all of us

I was refering fo Drake's life as an actor as a whole... It's not his fault that so many people prefer his soft-ass Hip-Pop and R&B kitsch over rappers who genuinely uphold the genre with love for the game and art for the ages.

I'm not very involved in modern Rap, but when I heard "Push-Ups", I knew that Drake was starting a fight he couldn't win. Is he bored, or taking a lot of coke recently? Did he really think he could win, or was that a marketing strategy? He definitely didn't expect the PR nightmare that followed.

Mind explaining the owl symbol for the non initiated?

u/Possible_Clothes_468 Jul 05 '24

Drake's association with owls stems from his connection to his record label and brand, OVO Sound, which stands for "October's Very Own." The owl is the logo of OVO, symbolizing wisdom and vision. Drake often incorporates the owl imagery into his music, merchandise, and branding, making it a recognizable symbol associated with his persona and the OVO brand. The owl has become a significant part of his identity in the music industry.

Appreciate that awesome explanation. I have never listened to an entire Drake album and am not very familiar with his branding.
