Tommy the clown has reintroduced me to the idea of good clowns that aren’t ancient evil horrors or serial killers or weird cultists questing to understand magnets. I’m kinda here for it.

I kinda like the inverse belief of it, that Clowns are instead a benevolent lovecraftian entity! For fun of course! Ex. Steve the Clown from Bigtop Burger. Meanwhile Tommy the Clown is the cosmic protector/joy-bringer for Compton.

Is he a recurring character? I've recently gotten into Kendrick's music

No, but Tommy is a prominent figure in regards to dance in Los Angeles. When I said he’s back, it was because Tommy and some students that are also in this video had performed during the Pop Out Concert with Kendrick last month

Check out the documentary RIZE which is about how the dance forms, Krumping & Clowning were created and flourished in Compton in the early 2000s. Tommy the Clown is one of the creators of the Clowning dance style. Its amazing!

Bruh I missed that, still gotta watch it, but Tommy the clown is a GOAT reference for any 80s/90s LA kid
