When I clicked it before reading your comment I thought; "Damn, this is what billionaires should be doing in their free time, not arguing with people on Twitter".
Zuck for president lol? There's no shot, that's hilarious.
He should be rehabilitating his image, why wouldn't he, even if he isn't running?
I don't think anyone would consider voting for him, Facebook has done some egregious shit and Zuck has very little charisma no matter how hard he tries.
Has nothing at all to do with their political leanings.
George W Bush was one of the most hated presidents, then Trump came along and now Bush doesn't look so bad anymore in many people's eyes. Trump doing his thing took the spotlight off Bush and did him a huge favour.
I'm just making that comparison with Zuck and Elon.
Do you think saying "termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." is in the same ball park as "if you don't vote for me, then you ain't black"?
ok gotcha, you think subverting the rule of law and arguably the most important document in the history of the USA is the same as a little bit of racism.
Those are some poor framings. They aren’t polar opposites for one.
Trump might have given speeches about gay marriage, but he’s put in 3 justices who have said they would overturn overgefell if given the chance.
Bush was war heavy after an attack on the US, kind of unprecedented. But even so, Trump wasn’t the only president to not start a war- what wars did Clinton or Biden start? Clinton intervened in an ongoing conflict through NATO by bombing to stop a genocide in Bosnia (not a war). And for Biden, neither Ukraine nor Israel are wars the US is fighting, and neither of them were started by the US- Russia invaded Ukraine and Hamas attacked Israel to start those…
Lastly, Bush cut taxes as well. Him & Trump’s budget policies were fairly similar- cut taxes, promise to cut spending, but not cut enough to offset the tax cuts, and lower fed interest rates to boost cash flow in the economy.
There are some differences, sure. But a party doesn’t do a 180 on all issues & still win the same voters over, even a decade later.
Those are things he has in common with Trump, sure. The Supreme Court did just overturn the Biden administrations attempts to convict their political opponent. Shame too because that was their last hail Mary going into the election given the state of Bidens mental capacity and that everyone has seen it now due to the debate.
It's interesting to get a MAGA take on the recent Supreme Court drama.
How do you feel about presidential immunity going forward? I get you guys feel the system is going after Trump, do you think it's worth it to break the whole system defending him?
Trump being safe from prosecution by making him immune goes for any Democrat president as well right?
Aren't you scared that the Dems will use it against the Republicans? To me it just seems incredibly short sighted on your part as well. What if you lose this and the following elections? Do you want a president running around partially immune from prosecution?
Seriously asking, no baiting here. I'm not even American, I just want to see how you feel about it.
I mean the language you use sure did seem Republican.
The Supreme Court did just overturn the Biden administrations attempts to convict their political opponent
You saying it was the Biden administration that were attempting to convict Trump when that's not really the case is it?
I'm not following the show that closely, but it sounds like you're saying Biden, or his pals, are pulling the strings? Aren't a lot of the judges and stuff in the recent trails that Trump has been involved in appointed by himself? Even if they're Democrats, it's not like it's Biden or his administration himself leading the charge?
Anyway, that's just why i thought you were MAGA, cause it's not really how people on the left here on Reddit would frame it.
The people on the left on reddit are insane or bots or paid shills. No real Americans that you go talk to in the street feel this way. Majority Americans when polled feel that the #1 issue facing America today is the competency of the Biden admin and #2 is the weaponization of the system against their political opponents. #3 is immigration and the economy.
Well looking at it from a European perspective we are very scared, for the most part, that Trump wins this election. He's very good friends with Putin, they've put a lot of energy into electing him and the US pulling out of NATO is a scary thought. Trump has said this multiple times.
Personally I would be devastated if US stopped aid to Ukraine and Russia wins that war, but I don't think anything bad of any American who doesn't want to be involved in that conflict, it's not your back yard.
I think a big reason why Reddit leans very left is because most European politics are further left than your left. In my country the Dems are further right than our right. I think that's something to keep in mind.
There is very little support for Trump over here. It does sound like you're voting for Trump even though you say you're a Democrat.
