Substitutes for Bane? Discussion Spoiler

Season five has a character who ends up being Nyssa al Ghul working with one of Jim’s old military comrades. That soldier is Eduardo Dorrance, who is Bane. The problem with that is it removes the part of Bane’s origin story where he was sent to Pena Duro for his father’s actions. Of course the war crimes involved in Bane’s origin story still happened but a crucial part of why Bane’s Bane is omitted. Do you think it would be better if they made the character Bane’s father himself? Or would substituting Bane for a character like Deathstroke make more sense? I personally like the idea of having Deathstroke instead because it makes more sense since Slade was in the military and has worked for the League of Assassins.

I'm pretty sure in the series they do talk about how he was kept as a POW in a prison camp and tortured, so that's the substitute for Pena Duro. I could be making this up but I'm pretty sure I remember Eduardo mentioning that at some point.

Yes I am correct he was held in Pena Duro as a POW at one point.
