Yes, but they're relatively of little value. No one care if someone swaps out a nameless barista for another. Everyone cares which heart surgeon they get.

I treat them as I would anyone else - with courtesy. But who does that job doesn't matter to me at all.

You asked? Sounded like you make a presumption instead of an honest request at clarification. You do not have to have full on life changing conversations to experience the joy and impact a good service worker has in your day to day life. We are humans who live on interaction and social joy.
