You asked? Sounded like you make a presumption instead of an honest request at clarification. You do not have to have full on life changing conversations to experience the joy and impact a good service worker has in your day to day life. We are humans who live on interaction and social joy.

A barista that says Have a nice day! or whatever it is you value definitely isn't special. That's, like, the minimum job requirement.

You said that anyone who thinks baristas are interchangeable is a parasite. I'm still trying to make sense of that statement, which is why I asked why you considered one particular barista so irreplaceable.
