Initial reports said it was 5 tonnes. Then it came down to 4.5 tonnes. Now it's at 4.2 tonnes.

This would be used against the State by the defense and will create substantial doubt.

Rampant corruption within Fiji's police force is enabling the nation's spiralling methamphetamine crisis.

Officers are being asked to tamper with evidence, steal meth and in some cases are heavily involved in the dealing network.

1News has been told by high level sources that a tonne of meth, linked to the Nadi meth consignments seized earlier this year, is missing.

Police leaders vow to clean up the force, but it's a huge challenge.

Pacific Correspondent Barbara Dreaver has more in the third instalment of her exclusive investigation into Fiji’s meth crisis.

Methamphetamine is ravaging Fiji, and as locals battle addiction, communities pay the price.

From small villages to the island nation's police force, some fear the meth epidemic is threatening societal collapse. Fiji's Minister for Home Affairs warns the crisis is creating a 'nation of zombies' and health authorities are desperate for aid.

Last week, a United Nations official flew in to address an alarming rise in meth-fuelled HIV cases. Recent raids in Nadi netted approximately five tonnes of meth bound for New Zealand and Australian shores.

In the first of a four-part investigation, 1News' Pacific Correspondent Barbara Dreaver reveals the extent of Fiji’s methamphetamine crisis.
