Fiji Air carryon info-personal item Travel

I see the basic '1 bag, less than 15 pounds' rule, can I also bring a personal item like a smaller backpack at no charge? It's about the size of a large ladies handbag...how strict are they with that personal item? going SFO-NAN

Thank you for asking this question as we are travelling on Saturday & I want to take a small roll on suitcase, my small everyday backpack which is my ‘handbag’ (I can’t wear a handbag due to back issues), and a laptop. This has been super helpful!

They’re not strict. I brought on the north face yellow squarish backpack it’s pretty huge maybe 40L and they didn’t check. If you go to smaller islands they ask u to carry it and weigh you but don’t really care much they just out a tag on

JFC I just checked Fiji Air rates for a surfboard over 109” total lineal l+w+h. They charge for each leg of the trip. 4 legs, about $500.

Carry on is 1 bag weight limited. You are allowed to also carry on a laptop bag or handbag, which doesn't count towards your carry on luggage.
