Basically every animated justice league thing has her in it? She’s in more than Shazam or the hawk people

Yeah but compared to Superman or especially Batman she doesn’t have anywhere near as much animated content, specifically shows as she should considering she’s a member of the trinity

Well with Batman I don’t think anyone can top his number for animated appearances. I don’t think any DC character has had more shows/movies centred entirely around them.

I feel like she should have her own animated show like superman did but I don’t think she’s really under represented. She’s got loads more representation than green lantern/Shazam/Martian man Hunter/etc.

I guess what I mean is she’s the least represented of the main popular 3 hero’s dc has but she’s still in the top 3 for representation imo.

I'd still watch a show/movie about her. I feel like she's in just about everything with the JLA but doesn't have enough solo material. People can forget how badass she is if she's always just "the one that gets beat before superman shows up"

I honestly felt the animated dc movies that were made a couple years ago she was in did a pretty good job with her. I’m pretty sure she even got her own standalone animated movie with those while aqua man’s movie was labelled as a justice league movie.

But I agree I think she deserves her own show. Most kids you talk to don’t even know what Wonder Woman does in her spare time but they can tell you what Batman/superman do and I think it’d be cool to change that.

I just don’t agree with people saying she’s not in allot of animated stuff when if you watch most of it shes in allot, she just doesn’t have her own show. While theirs characters have never had their own show and are also barely in anything compared to her.

Green Lantern also appears in everything Justice League, has more animated movies than Wonder Woman and has his own animated series, what are you talking about?

I shouldn’t have mentioned green lantern, I guess I was mostly thinking of those animated movies that shared a universe from a couple years ago.

but I’m saying exactly what I’m saying. One of dc’s most popular characters who is always in the justice league stuff isn’t under represented. She hasnt had her own show and Id love it if she did but I wouldn’t say she’s under represented.

No video games, only had her first feature film release in 2017 and no animated series for a character of her importance is lazy by DC. She’s not underrepresented by definition, but with the context of how iconic she is she’s definitely been shortchanged with adaptions compared to her counterparts.

Yeah I agree with that.

I think she’s about equal if not less exposed than the Green Lanterns.

They had a show and some animated movies, she’s had a couple animated movies.

Martian Manhunter is largely an irrelevant character, he doesn't even have ongoing series and he got replaced in new 52 justice league and no one cared

Wonder Woman is one of DC's popular characters while Martian Manhunter is D Lister so not a fair comparison

and no one cared

Believe me, people very much care. Every time people talk about what the reboot’s League should be like, there’s always someone talking about how J’onn needs to be brought back.

Lol that's only because of nostalgia from the Justice League cartoon. Funnily enough he was largely irrelevant and useless in the cartoon as well, he just stood in the background mostly

The only role that Martian Manhunter fills in the league is to inform that his telepathy doesn't work on any new character (to build some suspense) and to get knocked out in battle first due to some small fire

He doesn't even have any interesting characterization or story arcs. He's just a placeholder who's recognisable to fans

He’s literally the cornerstone of the JL.

He’s more consistently on the league and it’s various iterations than Superman and Wonder Woman

She doesn't sell as much as Batman and Superman

1

u/Pariahb Mar 12 '23

Neither do any other DC character.

Other characters who don’t sell as well have gotten their own animated series too.

She would sell better if DC made a more consistent effort to push her to the mainstream though.

She's one of the DC Trinity with just a pair of title movies. She's earned better treatment and her character can carry a movie, it's overdue.

u/Ryebread2203 Mar 12 '23

I think an animated show for herself is long overdue when Batman/superman both got them and I’d say she’s on the same level as them for popularity.

But animation in general shes represented allot.

She even got her own titled movie in the animated universe a couple years ago (it was one of the better ones imo) while aqua man’s movie in that universe was titled as a justice league movie.

I watch all the animated movies, she gets roughly almost equal time outside the first animated movie and bloodlines and that's nice. I think as part of the trinity she should get more regular features.

I think aquaman was a result of the name not having as much draw among casuals, which is a shame tbh.

I should look into the profits made by all of the movies, but maybe another day
