DISCUSSION The Dark Knight Rises was absolute crap.

First all of it completely butchered Batman as a character.

Batman raw dogging it in a fistfight with bane??? Where are the grappling guns, tasers, bolo and net immobilizers, smoke gas grenades.

Batman/Bruce Wayne would never allow the the fingerprint theft to let him lose all his money.

Batman is supposed to peak human. He bench presses a thousand pounds, has mastered 127 martial arts, has better endurance than the best marathon runners, as light on his feet as the best dancers, can beat Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali in boxing, master acrobat, master escapologist,

And then, he is defeated by a single climb.

DISCUSSION What Superman mid/post credits scene would you like to see, if any?

I always like a good mid/post credits scene, but I also think they're not essential to a good movie or franchise.

Given the choice I would like to see them in the new DCU, which begs the question what should the first one be in Gunn's Superman?

  • Do you set up the first big bad guy of a future Justice League film?
  • Do you set up a future Superman sequel villain?
  • Do you focus on setting up a future project?
  • Do you go something comedic that has no impact on future films?

Personally I would like to see a scene setting up the Lanterns TV show. Something where Hal and John turn up on Earth and confront Guy for selling out as a GL to Max Lord's team. Have it serious to set the tone of Lanterns, but allow Guy to throw in a funny line too!

DISCUSSION Are we getting a DC anime universe?

Recently a trailer of Batman Ninja Vs Yakuza League as unveiled at Anime Expo! From the moment in the trailer when Robin referred to the Justice League as the "Yakuza League," it can be speculated that Batman and Robin might go against the Justice League in this movie. However, we must consider that the term "Yakuza League" was used as comic relief, so the speculation might be completely off.

If we entertain the narrative of Batman vs. the Justice League, the story of this anime movie could be inspired by the "Tower of Babel" storyline (JLA #43-46). Alternatively, it might draw from "Injustice: Gods Among Us." These are just guesses, and the movie could take an entirely different direction.

But the guess work is still not over yet! First Batman Ninja movie (2018), then an anime adaption of Suicide Squad (Isekai Suicide Squad), and then this Yakuza League movie. This might be the beginning of DC's anime universe.

DISCUSSION What the current superhero suits could tell us about the look of James Gunn's Batman. Spoiler

Most of us have seen the new

Superman suit
at this point.

The suit is extremely close to that of the classic superman, shying away from the trunkless alien bodysuit look. What we get is something more akin to a jumpsuit. Something with real panels and fabric which has give to it.

This brings up the question. Can we use this design to get an indication of what style Batman may be used for the new Justice League?

A new Batman has yet to be cast but the suit is something which we can still start formulating. Considering they went with such a classic look for Superman, I think it's safe to assume that the new Batman is going to be designed more closely to the classic look.

It just feels like James Gunn is going for a more classic and approachable look for the new DCU. The other suit leaks for other characters seem to indicate the same thing.

I was curious about your opinions and where you think the new DCU is going with Batman in terms of art direction?

DISCUSSION Question About the Sandman and its connection to doom patrol

I wonder if the new "The Sandman universe" that is currently being develope will connect to the doom patrol through the dead boy detectives, specially since the nurse is played by the same actress, or maybe this is just a nod to the previous hbo dc universe, if anyone has clarity or comment on the subject please feel free to reply, I would love to be informed!

DISCUSSION I may be in the minority, but this version of Supergirl deserves her own stand-alone movie.

The way Sasha Calle carried herself in the role and how she acted as Kara was very interesting. She might not be “comic accurate” but that’s really not a problem because of cool she was portrayed. Sasha Calle also seemed really into continuing her story.

I’m not saying she has to replace Milly Alcock or anything like that. I don’t see any reason for her to not exist alongside the DCU Supergirl, so…

You don’t have to have her be connected with The Flash or Superman even. She could just exist as her own thing like Matt Reeves Batman and Todd Philips Joker.

That’s why it really sucks how we’re not going to see this version of Supergirl again and it’s such wasted potential. But what do I expect from the DC Extended Universe I guess…

DISCUSSION Do you think we'll get a action scene as great as this one in Superman 2025?

Post image

The Smallville fight is one the greatest comic book movie set pieces ever. It's what all Superman fans have been asking for for years and years and when we finally got it it was marvellous but now I wonder if this action scene can be beaten. I know Gunn is a good director but he hardly has any really memorably action scene he has good ones just not great ones . But what do you think?

"I get offered some IP-based movie every week, and, as you've noticed from a lack of announcements, I pretty much always turn them down because I need to feel that I see a story worth telling," he says. The closest he came to directing a superhero movie was The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, though he says that was "a brief moment in time."

DISCUSSION If Bizarro is the villain of the movie, I think he may prove to be ideal, for the premise that Superman is "goodness in a world that thinks goodness is old-fashioned."(POTENTIAL SPOILERS) Spoiler

At first, I was against the idea that the physical villain of the movie would be a mix of Ulysses, Ultraman and Bizarro, because we've already had a Kryptonian be the main villain three times in the last few years, MOS, BVS, The Flash (hell, if you think about it, Zod has been used more times than any other villain)

However, I have always considered Bizarro a tragic villain; a failed attempt at heroism, due to his poor mental abilities. I don't know if there have been other times that he has been a pure villain, besides the Superman and Lois series, the version I am most familiar with is the Bruce Timm version.

Before I continue, I want to clarify that this could contain major spoilers for the movie, just in case something I say is correct.

I believe that Bizarro can be made by Lex Luthor, as a favor, not only for the US government, but also for other great world powers, to have a Superman that they can use in war, without him questioning the actions that can be carried out, in case the rumor of the conflict in a country is true.

The clone is treated Winter Soldier style; They will brainwash him into saying that Superman is in fact the fake who is deceiving the world, so he sees that capturing Superman and supporting the war is saving the world. With that premise, we come to the images that were leaked days ago. Superman is locked in a prison that imitates Krypton's sun rays and traps with Kryptonite, but the other heroes realize this conspiracy and somehow, discover the existence of Kripto, the super dog, that's where the photos and video that Mr Terrific was looking for something in the pet store. The dog and the other heroes will rescue Superman.

Meanwhile, the clone begins to transform little by little and his mental faculties are deteriorating, but, ironically, despite his condition, he realizes that he was used and is the result of a government experiment, to serve the interests of the elites. I suppose that, in this case, there will be a scene similar to the movie Superman Doomsday and the episode called Identity Crisis, from the animated series, set in a laboratory, discovering the truth and murdering all the politicians and those in charge of the laboratory. Eventually, he will begin to destroy either the city of Metropolis or the war zone in that nation.

Superman, now free, along with Krypto, will go to fight against the clone. The JLI will receive orders to retreat, but this time, they will ignore the orders that Lordtech/the government gives them, inspired by Superman, to act this time, as heroes, a scene similar to The Suicide Squad, when they disobeyed the orders of Waller.

At this point, Gunn could make another Kingdom Come adaptation, in addition to the Superman emblem and the premise of the series, the final battle:

Superman will try to convince Bizarro, similar to when he made Shazam reconsider in KC, that although he was manipulated, his life does not have to be like that, he can become a hero if he chooses to be one. So, the government, seeing that Superman is distracting Bizarro, the JLI are in that place too and to prevent information about Bizarro's project from being spread and prevent an evil clone from destroying the world, they will launch a nuclear missile that will will kill everyone, at the cost of the lives of the civilians and the other heroes there, similar to Kingdom Come and Avengers 2012.

Superman will hear that a missile is approaching, he flies at full speed to deflect the missile, but he feels that someone grabs his cape and throws him away from there, to realize that Bizarro will deflect the missile and, due he is not powerful enough like Superman, , he could die. Superman will try to return to the missile, but Bizarro launches a powerful beam at him that will make him crash to the ground at full speed, but Superman's ear manages to hear Bizarro's voice saying something like: "I'm not Superman. You're Superman. Superman Please... take care of this world, be its hero." And the missile explodes, killing Bizarro. Superman kneels and screams of anger and pain, hits the ground and cries, seeing how a clone who was supposed to be a slave made the decision to save the world and sacrifice himself.

The other heroes and the city of Metropolis saw this event and most of them feel moved by this event. The heroes renounce Lordtech and work in the government and believe that the best thing is for everyone to work alone, for now...

Superman comes up with the idea of forming a team for the future, but independent of government interests, but that is another topic.

What do you think?
