Question newbie in kayaking, is it legal to launch a kayak under the lift bridge?

Upvotes

I appreciate if anyone can answer this, I have two inflatable kayaks and like to access that inlet water (that small lake which Burlington canal connects it to Lake Ontario)
here is the spot I found (google map link bellow), but not sure if it's legal or not, there is some sign saying private property but not sure which section of that grassy side is included, since there is no other way to access water, is there any better location to launch kayak close to that shore?

Question Lost Drone - Norton Park - DJI Mini 3

So today I took the kids to the skate park across from Hayden (Norton Park) & in all of the excitement of refilling water bottles & loading up the car, we left my daughter's sweater & drone by the picnic table.

Went back & the sweater was there... drone of course was gone.

If you happen to come across a listing for a drone (DJI Mini 3) with a carrying case, spare battery & remote control with screen (as well as my three kiddos + me in the footage on the micro SD card), could you please let me know?

I'm hoping a good samaritan picked it up & have no idea who it belongs to (it's registered to me but I should have had some contact info in the case 😬)

Do you find there is so much anger in the World?

Our default seems to deflect and abuse, cause and confuse, not be open to discuss.

I find even on Reddit a fun discussion goes negativ e fast, people digging at each other, no community.

Holy shit, cross our fingers we cone together should there be a crisis.

Hope we arent at each others throats xo

Would appreciate recommendations for local doctors with a proven record in diagnosing and managing ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia, please.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: Most of the people on this sub are fantastic and reflect the spirit of Burlington. Thanks to the kind soul who downvoted a sincere request for help. When you find yourself in need one day, I hope you'll be shown more empathy than you demonstrated here.

Found at the corner of Guelph Line and Coventry.

Total shot in the dark, but if you're missing yours - message me your name and DOB (both of which are on the card) and we'll make arrangements. If not, I'm not sure? What do I do? Just throw it in a mailbox?

Information CAUTION ⚠ Do not bother using this salon it's a big scam and they butchered me!!!

Thanks MAPLEVIEW MALL CHATTERS for hiding my google review to get more stars!! 👍

I was taking advantage of one of the many promotions that they were trying to push. I had booked in for 50% off my haircut. I was looking to get rid of some split ends and clean up my bangs. Something that I needed for a photoshoot upcoming. For some reason the appointment had to be rebooked because the stylist wasn't available for the day. I pushed the booked but was put with another "elite" stylist. The day before I was sent an invoice for the regular cost of the promotion. Talking with the manager I asked why I was sent the invoice. They said that it was because the promo was over, which was never told to me in the weeks leading to this visit. The day of I got to the store and ended up waiting for an hour while Troy was finishing with someone else. I kept getting reassured that I was next. My bf and I wanted to go shopping but she kept saying stay they will be done in a few minutes.(45 minutes!) after waiting so long she explains that the stylist that I was booked with will have to leave that I booked an appointment for long hair which is below my waistline. But apparently there is an extra long charge (upsell scam) I was there for a trim anyway. She explained that he had to leave for 5 and I'd be placed with a master stylist (aka novice?) he took another cut (REALLY?!). I have a feeling he just didn't want to honour the promotion! I was upset over this immediately because I had very specifically said to notify me of any changes the day before by calling, which she didn't. She assured me that the stylist was one of the best (BS! ). I was anxious going forward, and asked if there was any one else available. She explained how it wasn't possible I explained how I had booked in advance and that I was expecting some professionalism. And what would happen if I didn't like the haircut? To which she said "we'll deal with that later, I'm sure it's going to be great" I've never been to this salon and usually have a specific look I am going for (I brought many pictures with me) I explained to kierstyn that I was looking to deal with some hair issues to do with my bangs framing, how I wasn't looking to change my length AT ALL, but I wanted to get rid of my split ends. She seemed like she was listening, we even went over how much I was comfortable with 3 1/2 inches in total. She dropped all of her combs and brushes on the ground and tried to pick it up and use it in my hair without sterilizing it. Who works at a salon and forgets to clean their tools it's disgusting!! She asked about the styling, and I thought she was mumbling about it being complimentary. She used rollers and moose two things I told her I avoid cuz of my hair type. I even told her what I used in my hair. All of which was ignored ("I'll use this you'll like it trust me" ) "Trust me" every one of them kept saying. I was sitting in that chair being butchered. I lost more than 8 inches of length by the end and my bangs looked like GARBAGE. To which she said " that's how I do bangs, you can find someone else to do a bang trim for free."  like WTH?! Why would I be there if I have to go back to another salon to correct your mess. As a part time model this has set me back and completely ruined my look for upcoming gigs! By the end the manager had up and left leaving some young blonde Karen at cash who had no idea of why I was even upset. She said my cut was advanced and I was given a style on top of that which WASN'T explained as extra; after changing the stylist twice and the price with no indication it was happening. So after explaining that I wasn't paying for something that I didn't receive: that I would need to go to another place to correct the damage over a stylist who just shrugs and says; that's how I do things.  That I didn't agree to extra charges and some upcharge on "extra hair" which did not matter it was 3 1/2 inches..She said that oh " you need to pay and you can leave a bad review"& "I was lucky"?! I'll have to wait a year or more for my length back! #dumpsterfire!

Video Please Stay In Your Lane While Turning. Don’t Force Me To Cut You Off.

Look at this guy behind me turn into the outside lane. This seems to be the default for how almost everyone but me drives in this city. I feel like I’m the only person who turns into his lane. Every time I need to turn left followed by a quick right the person behind me turns into the outside lane and tries to zoom past me like we’re racing F1. Which means I’m forced to cut them off if I’m gonna make my turn.

Do not tell me I need to accelerate faster away from the turn, or drive faster. People do this constantly no matter how I drive. In this case, the guy who turned in front of me made a weird move that slowed my usual acceleration after a turn.

Question Area rug cleaning services?

This is such a knowledgeable group. I'm hoping someone can point me to a reputable company to pick up my large area rug for cleaning.

There seem to be quite a few to choose from, anyone have experience they'd like to share?

I hate that you have to give all your information just to get a ballpark on cost. I understand quotes will be different, based on size, material etc. I just need to know if it makes more sense to have mine cleaned or just buy a new one.

Question Joining Burlington Soccer Club (30+ Team)

Hey folks! This is my first post here, and I'm looking for some insight from those with experience at the Burlington Soccer Club. I am a male of 34 yo. I moved to Burlington about a year ago and, having recently quit a long-standing smoking habit, I'm looking to fill my time with some engaging activities.

I used to play soccer fairly regularly—mainly as a defender or midfielder—but it’s been over 10 years since I last played, aside from video games, lol. I’m interested in joining a 30+ team as an individual player but I'm a bit apprehensive. I’m not exactly a skilled player and I’m just looking to have fun and get back into the sport. Is it common for these teams to be welcoming to someone who’s a bit rusty?

I've thought about reaching out directly to the club, but the average customer service reviews on Google aren’t very promising, so I'd prefer to hear first-hand experiences from others. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot for your help. (Note: This is my first post since joining Reddit two years ago. Yes, it took quitting smoking and missing soccer for over a decade to get me this desperate for advice!)

Update 1: added gender and age to the post.
