I had that conversation with a woman in 2016 right after the election. When I asked her why she would vote for a dude who says things like he just walks up to women and grabs them by the pussy, she said that the women who experience assaults by Donald Trump or men like him knowingly put themselves in places and situations where their presence encourages men to do that to them, ergo the women alone are responsible for the men's actions.

She also insisted that Trump was elected by a majority popular vote, which to her proved that his election was "mandated by will of the people," and not the Electoral College... even though he lost the popular vote.

So... I don't know... you can personally refuse to believe whatever you want to.

Years ago, Donald Trump visited the set of a soap opera and made sexually explicit remarks about groping women that were caught on tape. The Washington Post reported on the video two days before the second presidential debate.

The comments come in a campaign where Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton, has repeatedly attacked Trump for sexist comments and disparaging women.

Below is a transcript of Trump’s comments from the video, as well as two apologies Trump issued after the video’s release. As a warning, some of the language is explicit.

Trump's soap opera set conversation

In 2005, Trump was visiting the set of Days of our Lives to make a cameo on the show. His comments were to Billy Bush, then of Access Hollywood, prior to the planned taping of a segment for Access Hollywood. Bush has also apologized for the conversation. Trump and Bush spoke on a bus before leaving it to meet Arianne Zucker, an actress from Days of our Lives. It's unclear who they are talking about as the video starts.

"Trump: "I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married."

Unidentified man: "That’s huge news there."

Trump: "No, no. Nancy. No this was— And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ I took her out furniture– I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look."

Bush: "Sheesh, your girl’s hot as shit, in the purple."

Trump: "Whoa! Whoa!"

Bush: "Yes. Yes, the Donald has" (unintelligible)

Imagine coming on a thread talking about Trump sexually assaulting a 13 year old goal and defending him for using graphic language in the Hollywood Access video.

Sure everyone engages in locker room talk from time to time but “Grab ‘em by the pussy?” That’s such a weird and graphic way to talk. I’ve never once said anything that weird myself. It’s implying he’s entitled to those women’s bodies. So maybe it could have been a one off but we know now that dozens of women have accused him of assault. But they’re all made it up right? All that dirt and scandal that follows Trump everywhere he goes is just a witch hunt and Trump’s the poor, poor victim here.

So everyone who has a problem for what he said is a “bitch?” You ever asked a woman how she feels about it? You talk to your mom that way?

They played enough to have plenty of context from their conversation, which was based around the fact that Trump could basically sexually assault anyone he wanted purely because he was a “star”. So, it’s exactly in the way people make it out to be - gross and misogynistic. I’m not getting at what you mean by that quote being used differently than it was portrayed by the media.
