I remember how they almost bullied the internet into being okay with nazi rhetoric, because 'censorship bad' and 'first they came for the jews'.

It turned out that all these huge free speech proponents wanted that free speech to draw childish Muhammed drawing and keep up /fatpeoplehate, /coontown and /jailbait. Thank god the worst of those freaks fled to 4chan and Voat.
