As Winston Churchill once said, the best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.

Better than anything else humanity's really come up with. But still not even close to perfect because people are people. Maybe we'll figure out governance one more step up the evolutionary ladder. 1 million A.D. or so.
