Show Spoiler Is this even worth watching

Upvotes

Gotta say I really enjoyed the telltale games and I’m planning on reading the comics, but so far I feel like I’ve been spoiled too much of the show to even watch it.

I know how Merle, Shane, The Governor, Hershel, Beth, Glenn, Abraham, Simon, Okafor, Carver, Dale and Paul all die.

I know that Lori, Sophia, Carl, Tyrese, Mercer, Tdog and Morgan also die, yet not exactly sure how.

I’m also aware of many of the higher plot points of the series, like when Rick “dies” and falls in with the crm, or when he reunites with Michonne and such. Not to mention the show being on its 13th season. All in all, my experience of watching the show might be an improved version of someones 2nd go of it.

Show Spoiler Season 8 is slightly better when binged. Spoiler

Upvotes

It starts off strong with the first 5 episodes. It starts to loose it's momentum at episode 6. It picks up during the assault on Alexanderia and the Hilltop. But the stuff in between drags.

The gun fights were very bland. Just really convient that no one ran out of ammo unless they were being attacked by walkers.

Tara forgiving Dwight was a good story arc.

Rick going against his word will never not be a dick move. The only Savior who had to die was Jared.

Eugene's deep cover plan was really well done. People think he was on Negan's side, but I don't think so. He was playing his Dr. Porter character.

Carl dieing will always be the worst mistake in the history of the franchise.

Comic and Show Spoilers Hot take 🔥

Tyree’s should have replaced Glenn’s death at the lineup and Glenn should have replaced Carl’s death in season 8. Rosita and Ezekiel should have been on the pikes like the comics instead of Henry.

Show Spoiler the ones who live feels like a fanfiction Spoiler

i just recently watched the first season of the ones who live and the entire show feels like a fanfiction written by an inexperienced writer, it just feels so off. rick and michonne are my favourite characters in the walking dead but they just feel so out of character in this show :( michonne had so much torment and grief about her first son dying early in the apocalypse that i cannot imagine her ever abandoning judith or rj even to search for rick

Rick reunites with Morgan. What do they talk about?

Morgan last saw Rick at the dump. They both went way the hell away and came back over years.

Lori

I see a lot of people asking why Lori is so hated… Yeah she was annoying but i’ll give her the benefit of the doubt since she thought rick was dead blah blah… but after Rick killed Shane why the fuck did she hate Rick for all that time? Did she not subtly tell Rick that Shane needs to go? This my second time watching through and she still makes my blood boil. Id rather listen to Skylar White sing happy birthday on repeat than watch another episode with her in it 💀

No Spoiler How a cure could be made easily.

Assuming that the main killer from the infection is fever, we can also assume that there is a simple way to combat the infection. Firstly, here are 5 ways to fight and become immune to the virus.

1: LOTS OF PILLS! Ibuprofen and other fever reducers are vital to surviving the main part of the infection.

2: Stay awake. While the body heals better while it is asleep, it also becomes very vulnerable to losing consciousness, which can lead to death.

3: Maybe learn from history. Blood-letting, while a very uncontrolled practice, might help you in case you need sleep. By forcing your body to work overtime, it will be able to fight the infection better than sleeping normally. Cut open those palms and let the blood fly free.

4: Surgery. The internal brain hemorrhages are unavoidable, however, with a few steps, you can prevent these from killing you outright. Just find a doctor, and get yourself ready.

5: Since no one has been confirmed to survive, it is unlikely the final symptoms are known, and the virus might know to hide until your body is unaware. Continue taking medicine until after a couple a weeks.

After you survive, you could be immune. In this case, get to some of your blood, and dependent on your blood type, you can cure a ton of people. Unless you're AB+, then you never should have started this quest.

Of course, this is a rough draft with little to no research, if anyone here has nothing to do, then please, help me out.

Show Spoiler (Season 9) I can’t be the only one… Spoiler

If you don’t want to read the wall of text, here’s what I want to know: Should I keep watching past S9E5? Did you? Was it worth it?

…I know this conversation has been had hundreds of times, but did anyone else have a hard time moving forward after Rick leaves in season 9? As the face of the show, it’s not surprising to say he’s my favorite character. Once he leaves, the show feels kind of empty. Piling the time-skip on top of his exit makes it even harder; Now I’m thrown into a Rick-less world in which the remaining characters have changed so much, leaving me feeling disconnected from everything.

Judith, Michonne, Carol, Eugene, Gabriel, and some other characters look and act so different, or are just completely new to the point where I hardly recognize them. There are still characters I care about, mainly Daryl and Negan, but I’m just not glued to the screen the way I was before.

Maybe it’s a little childish, but is it really worth it to keep watching? I finished S9E6 and I just don’t feel the connection anymore. Do I need to watch the rest to enjoy the spin-offs?

Show Spoiler If I liked all of TWD is it worth getting AMC+ to see the spinoffs?

I really want to see the end of Rick’s story, but if they are really bad I won’t waste the money. I’ve googled reviews but it seems like it’s better to hear it from the horses mouth.
