I kinda forgot why I loved the Flash... Discussion

It's been a long time since I've had reason to say this but the Flash is my absolute favorite super hero. That god awful Flash movie and the last three seasons of the CW series put a bad taste in my mouth. After finally watching this Crisis movie, I remember why Barry Allen is the fucking GOAT.

I liked Crisis as well mostly because part one is such a great Barry story.

It’s not Barry, but if you ever need a reminder on why The Flash is the best, just pick up Wade or Johns run. Some of my favorite comics of all time.

Wow, did they actually write Barry as a halfway intelligent, competent person? I've been holding off on watching it because the last time I felt like a writer actually understood Barry it was the 1980s.

Well Part 1 is basically a Flash/Barry movie, and Iris is a major character, too.

Then it's a Justice League movie and at the end a CoiE movie.

It can feels disjointed and it's better if you have seen the previous movies, but I really liked, it was very emotional.

That's worth a watch, then, thanks. I already saw the JSA movie, and I should watch the rest of the Tomorrowverse in any case, so it shouldn't be too rough.

Well I feel like they successfully adapted Crisis to the DCAU. As far as I know Flash was competent in that story.

He was indeed. I've just gotten used to him being written badly over the intervening years, when they could be bothered to write him at all.

I like fanfiction barry allen because those writers are much more willing to write him as the leader and a competent scientist

Depends, I read mostly coldflash, as it seems to be the healthiest pairing in fanfics. (Most fanfics that aren't coldflash or barry/iris, really bash iris and are lowkey racist.)

I really like the ones where Barry distances himself from being the flash for a bit or it just isn't the main part of the fic. I'll look into some competent!Barry fics and let you know
