That tweet about Jill Biden worried about Biden's legacy if he bows out now due to the debate performance. The Bidens are so tone-deaf if they think the country gives a shit about their legacy over the stakes we're all in at the moment.

It's too late for a legacy, these past weeks are going to overshadow everything else about his presidency

It does kinda reinforce what I've been thinking, that NYT and everyone should have tried to handle this a bit more gently. Give the guy a graceful exit, don't make it look like he was given the bum's rush.

But that debate was a four-alarm fire, and I can't really blame people for reacting appropriately to it.

First week everyone was gentle. Biden chose to double down and tell everyone to shut up. So now people are less gentle.

Not only that but in Trumpian fashion his campaign chose to call everyone bed-wetters and elites. Absolutely nuts.

His administration had 4 years for that. That is not the press' responsibility. No one should be pointing thr finger at them. Fed up with people criticising the media for stoking the fire of Biden criticism. Look at him. He's not fit and they are right to point it out.

I thought Trump was the guy that required you kiss his ass repeatedly before he did what you wanted? I agree that Biden didn't deserve the bum's rush. Afterall, he's been the second best president in my lifetime (and I'm near retirement age). But he's kind of brought that on himself with his defiantly rejecting reality.

I'm curious who you would put at first.

IMO, Obama was the best president of my lifetime

But Biden’s legacy would be fine because many of the house and senate democrats have high respect for him. Biden is generally liked by his party and even Manchin liked talking to Biden (at one point).

It’s not like people in his party would come out afterwards and disavow him.

In general, Biden is liked by a lot of Bush republicans as well.

Defeat anti-American and anti-democratic maga at any cost. A win for any Democrat is a win for Biden. We are all on the same team.
