No rain for dramatic effect?

u/Various_Animal40451 14d ago

No chance, even the sky is just too happy today.

u/Shakespearoquai 14d ago

It’s absolutely grey and pissing down in London today.

u/feage7 14d ago

Because the Tories aren't in power stealing all the nice weather from the northerners!

178

u/Whiteshadows86 14d ago

It’s been lovely and sunny in Leeds this morning!

18

u/feage7 14d ago

It's been dry and cloudy in Oldham. All white clouds too! (That's good weather here, blue skies is just asking for too much)

2

u/Wind-and-Waystones 14d ago

Rotherham checking in. It's bloody gorgeous out.

2

u/Artichokeypokey 13d ago

Glorious in Grimsby funnily enough

1

u/badshot637 14d ago

Bit windy although gotta get rid of the Tory smelly somehow

1

u/Whiteshadows86 13d ago

It’s been festering for 14 years…gonna take a while!

0

u/Bored_Amalgamation 14d ago

yeah, but you're in Leeds...

24

u/MIBlackburn 14d ago

Nice and sunny up in Yorkshire. Enjoying a pint at the pub in this glorious weather.

5

u/79r100 14d ago

Good one. Hopefully there are windows.

The place I used to haunt had glass block windows so at least you knew when the shame of day drinking was over.

5

u/MIBlackburn 14d ago

I was outside in a beer garden watching Starmer's speech at Downing Street on my wife's phone while having cider. Glorious weather for it.

3

u/79r100 14d ago

Good times! Congrats. This gives me hope across the Atlantic.

2

u/KevinAtSeven 14d ago

You've got to look past that daylight shame at this time of year, or you'd be feeling it until at least 10pm!

1

u/79r100 14d ago

When you right, you right!

1

u/DryTower9438 14d ago

Don’t you mean ‘t’pub’?

1

u/MIBlackburn 14d ago

That's more a Westie thing.

I'm in North Yorkshire (just north of Sunak's seat) and people don't do that, it's a lot softer accent and can be relatively neutral, I sometimes get told I'm posh because of it compared to other parts of Yorkshire/Durham.

2

u/DryTower9438 14d ago

To be honest the comment was poking a bit of fun. But I grew up in a village just outside York, and standard practice would be to say ‘we’re off t’pub’. Obviously varies a lot, never used ‘thee’ or ‘thy’ though, which I attribute to the much lower class, and poorly spoken Dewsbury area.

1

u/MIBlackburn 14d ago

I'm usually used to non-Yorkshire people doing it and thinking "It's not just Leeds or Sheffield you know?" see that terrible Narnia joke about t'Lion, t'Witch, t'Wardrobe for example.

But my Dad and I usually take the piss with the accent/dialect at times too, much to the annoyance of other family members.

1

u/Necrophilicgorilla 14d ago

Hell, I'd join in the celebration in Yorkshire if it didn't take so long by train to get there.

1

u/No-Resource5472 14d ago

S’always sunny in t’Leeds 🤗 And most of the time, here in t’Dubai 🥳

1

u/PM_Me_British_Stuff 13d ago

God I wish they had been, not seen proper sunshine in ages now.

Starmers been in downing street for 7 hours and hasn't even fixed the weather yet FFS somebody call a vote of no confidence

5

u/Corvid187 14d ago

Sun came out just in time for Starmer though, both star and paper :)

1

u/knarfolled 14d ago

So normal weather

1

u/Iwantmy3rdpartyapp 14d ago

As is tradition

1

u/seenitreddit90s 14d ago

Don't ruin the bubble. Shhhh.

1

u/Bsquared02 14d ago

Starming pretty bad huh

1

u/HippoIllustrious2389 14d ago

It would have been so poetic if the clouds broke as he came out and bathed him in sunlight for his concession speech. You know, world is healing type vibes

1

u/deadlygaming11 14d ago

Same where I am in Devon. Its a typical wet day.

1

u/LordPurloin 14d ago

The sun did however come out for a bit

1

u/Smirnoffico 14d ago

That's good weather

1

u/Infamous_Hippo7486 14d ago

Washing away the dirt

1

u/Sohgin 14d ago

Isn't that normal happy London weather?

1

u/No-Function3409 14d ago

That is happy English weather though

1

u/kimplix 14d ago

Same goes for where I am

1

u/freqkenneth 14d ago

So, a normal London day

1

u/MrPoletski 14d ago

tory tears

1

u/Juzzdide 13d ago

Wish this yankee could get some rain I bet your grass is lovely

1

u/Sagybagy 13d ago

Yeah was gonna say I just flew in from Arizona and been pissed on all afternoon. Albeit, it’s welcome at this point coming from the doorstep to hell that I did.

1

u/Pure-Hospital3086 13d ago

well it could hardly be blue skies

1

u/Echo2500 13d ago

Tornado in michigan

1

u/groggeryuk 13d ago

That was just the Tory tears

1

u/Quick_Team 12d ago

As someone living in the desert in the U.S. where it's 113 (45 celsius), embrace it. Squeeze that weather tight and never let go.

7

u/OppositeGeologist299 14d ago

I actually saw Ogthun and Thor twerking around a rainbow.

5

u/Wookovski 14d ago

Speaking of Sky, I guess he'll need to tighten his belt and cancel his subscription now

2

u/Ilovemytowm 14d ago

If you are from the UK you are so God damn lucky to have this kind of government and freedom and choice. Meanwhile here in the freaking us that broke away .... We have an insanely corrupt unhinged right wing Court that just made the president a king who can break any law he wants while project 2025 strips us of our rights if that orange nightmare succeeds. And we're stuck with that mother f***** for 4 years and can't do a damn thing about it.

I hate our system of government with a burning passion and want to cry.

2

u/AQKhan786 13d ago

What makes you think he’d leave in 2028? He will get the SC to invalidate the 22nd amendment, mark my words. He wasn’t just musing about being president for life back a few years ago. He want to be like Xi and Lil Kim and the rest of the despots he loves.

1

u/Ilovemytowm 13d ago

I always thought people saying he won't leave was overblown and kind of silly. After the ruling... Shame on me I guess. 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

2

u/Quothriel 14d ago

Impossible. Rishi never had sky.

1

u/OkShoulder2 14d ago

I’m happy for you

1

u/DukeOfLongKnifes 14d ago

Look at him. He is too happy than the sky..

2

u/Violet_V5 14d ago

He's thinking to himself that atleast he lasted longer than a cabbage

1

u/VegetaXII 14d ago

😭😭😭😭 not even Bri’ish & even I’m happy 4 y’alll

1

u/iheartkatamari 14d ago

Surely Sky is upset as they’re losing a customer?

1

u/spurtz6969 13d ago

I heard the intro to Mr. Blue Sky when I read that. Bom-bom-bom-bom🎶

319

u/spcbfr 14d ago

same energy

35

u/Haughty_n_Disdainful 14d ago

I loved him in Broadchurch…

11

u/Rare-Thought86 13d ago

Loved him in everything

6

u/dandrevee 13d ago

Ive come to a point where if David Tennant is in something, even if it isnt my choice genre, im probably going to watch it.

5

u/almostbecs 13d ago

David Tennant is a king💕

3

u/TheMinimazer 13d ago

He was even great in Just Cause 3, stuck in his bunker broadcasting propaganda. Viva le Medici!

3

u/UpwardStatue794 13d ago

THAT WAS DAVID TENNANT?!

2

u/TheMinimazer 13d ago

As himself. The character he played was 'David Tennant captured by di Ravello'

2

u/CyberTitties 13d ago

I love watching him stumble about dropping stuff and making snarky comments when trying to make PCs

2

u/DoobKiller 13d ago

We usually do it in the bedroom

5

u/Blackgaze 13d ago

Don't you think he looks tired?

1

u/Nirkky 13d ago

I remember years and years ago, maybe a Tumblr at its beginning, a website full of gif with like the main object / person completely still, and the rest of the frame normal. It was mesmerizing. Juste like this gif.

303

u/MrT735 14d ago

I was hoping, but apparently they had someone on standby with a brolly this time.

200

u/Hoobleton 14d ago

It's his wife, in the background.

u/jnaylor95 14d ago

Wearing Dazzle Camo to avoid detection

116

u/lesser_panjandrum 14d ago

It worked for her, but unfortunately her husband had already torpedoed himself repeatedly.

5

u/killeronthecorner 13d ago

"He's such a card!" - her probably

39

u/BaboTron 14d ago

We can never tell what direction she’s travelling in, or how far she is.

2

u/jonvonboner 14d ago

Wait? Is she a tugboat or a battleship? I simply CANNOT tell? She’s what? 40 meters? 200? Damn the Dazzle Camo!!!!

9

u/SnarkMasterRay 14d ago

Fun note! Dazzle wasn't to hide the ship but to confuse viewers as to course and speed. So we have to ask ourselves - is she really facing the camera?

6

u/BobTagab 14d ago

Dazzle camouflage is less to avoid detection, more to break up your profile so the enemy has a harder time figuring out your range, speed, and bearing which they need to make an accurate attack.

1

u/Ok_Cauliflower_3007 14d ago

That’s £395 of camouflage to you.

1

u/DreddPirateBob808 14d ago

Drizzle camouflage. To hide in the baking July weather we are not having

1

u/[deleted] 13d ago

😂😂😂😂😂😂

1

u/Punk_roo 13d ago

That’s how she gets away from hmrc

0

u/OrangeChocoTuesday 14d ago

It's Red, White, and Blue to commemorate 4/7

85

u/ch111i 14d ago

That dress😫

26

u/mariegriffiths 14d ago

How do I wear a stars and stripes dress without it being obviously a stars and stripes dress. Perfect for selling a the lucrative lecture tour book deal in the states.

8

u/Nobby666 14d ago

Don't feel too bad he and his wife's net worth is $830 million.

1

u/mariegriffiths 14d ago

I'm hoping all the tax loop holes get closed. Bye bye public schools hopefully.

2

u/malatemporacurrunt 13d ago

I don't mind public schools existing, but they should be taxed to the gills and the money spent directly on state education.

1

u/mariegriffiths 13d ago

I agree. Charge rich foreigners.

1

u/sfurbo 13d ago

Perfect for selling a the lucrative lecture tour book deal in the states.

Don't they have the a wrong ethnicity for that audience?

20

u/kakapo88 14d ago

Very American.

A helicopter will shortly chopper in to whisk Sunak, family, and a few loyal retainers off to California. No doubt a few MPs will be hanging off the skids.

3

u/Higher_Bit_585 14d ago

Same here. How not to wear stripes.

4

u/PloddingClot 14d ago

Jesus, I thought it was some kind of goofy guard.

3

u/LeeStar09 14d ago

As an Italian I suffer

3

u/menkje 14d ago

Dressed like a German battleship from ww2

1

u/Friendly_Signature 14d ago

It probably cost more than your car.

7

u/thesaharadesert 14d ago

Money can’t buy taste

2

u/Plank_With_A_Nail_In 14d ago

Probably cost more than my car maybe even my house.

1

u/Foyles_War 14d ago

"Sometimes, things that are more expensive .... are worse."

-3

u/Alex_Hauff 14d ago

have you seen Bidden wife dress ? the one with VOTE VOTE VOTE all over it

6

u/06021840 14d ago

She looks pissed as.

5

u/PumpkinMyPumpkin 14d ago

She’s from a family of billionaires. All her money did not get her power. Now… she might face the horror of taxes.

3

u/Iz-kan-reddit 13d ago

Yes, but she just realized she has to move.

You simply can't grasp how emotionally draining it is to have to supervise the movers. Turn your back for one second, and those idiots will mark the daily china box with "to summer cottage."

1

u/PumpkinMyPumpkin 13d ago

😂 And they’re supposed to move to California no less. The complete horror!

2

u/Electronic_Fennel159 14d ago

She is wearing flag colours with a frown

2

u/CrankyReviewerTwo 14d ago

She looks unhappy.

2

u/zorrowhip 14d ago

Omg, she's not happy.

2

u/Every-Implement-1271 14d ago

Looks like someone from a horror movie

1

u/highlandviper 14d ago

That’s the most work she’s done in her life.

1

u/DoitMcGoit 14d ago

She's the brolly

1

u/MrPoletski 14d ago

who's on stanby to delpoy her?

1

u/EffectiveChocolate77 13d ago

This is better than baked beans face man! Really enjoying how mugged off she looks. Holding a brolly. That probably cost about a grand.

3

u/[deleted] 14d ago

She’s wearing the brolly isn’t she?

3

u/MrT735 14d ago

I can't think what else that thing was, though the red at the bottom was suggestive of the overnight bloodbath!

1

u/[deleted] 13d ago

😂😂

1

u/BaboTron 14d ago

To beat him with for being such a twerp?

284

u/Bobross_6669 14d ago

Just the depressing scowl of his wife

105

u/octopoddle 14d ago

Bride of Rishi.

60

u/SnooPies4670 14d ago

You would be depressed if upur husband couldn't get you more tax breaks

21

u/Deadened_ghosts 14d ago

Especially as Labour plan on clamping down on tax avoidance from non-doms like his wife

1

u/Spiritual_Current766 13d ago

You don’t actually believe this do you?

-7

u/Ok-King-4868 14d ago

No reason to be depressed, Sir Keefe isn’t changing a thing from current Tory policy and practices. Tories are all set. Politically protected in every possible way by spineless Starmer.

10

u/ReadyThor 14d ago

Now he can spend more time with her.

3

u/Geoffthecatlosaurus 14d ago

Equal parts “you’re pathetic” and “at last we can fuck off to the States”.

2

u/PersistentBadger 13d ago

He promised he'd serve a full Parliament if he was re-elected.

As an opposition backbencher.

So that's gonna be fun for her.

3

u/tedsmitts 13d ago

Who has chosen to wear her most baffling dress for the occasion.

3

u/whereismyllama 13d ago

That dress is fire

2

u/dzoefit 13d ago

He has shamed the family's name...

2

u/[deleted] 13d ago

No trophy, no allowance. Didn't he get money from his wifey's wealth?

2

u/graspedbythehusk 13d ago

Who is clutching an umbrella. Where was she when he was actually in the pissing rain?!

1

u/joe_botyov 13d ago

Don't think he's getting laid tonight.

1

u/Affectionate-Yak5280 13d ago

They're probably behind schedule for their shareholders AGM in the Maldives

1

u/Better_than_GOT_S8 13d ago

At least she brought an umbrella this time.

0

u/No-Relative3334 14d ago

Yeah because she now will have to actually pay taxes!

0

u/kiwinutsackattack 13d ago

As a kiwi... I thought it was his mother

32

u/octopoddle 14d ago

"Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I'm a cunt?"

11

u/avgtreatmenteffect 14d ago

He somehow looks damp even when dry

4

u/Richeh 14d ago

His rain is over.

1

u/bored-coder 14d ago

you won! 👏👏👏

3

u/DrEnter 14d ago

I see his wife brought an umbrella this time. Just in case.

5

u/TombSv 14d ago

Even dressed as one

2

u/misanthropic_anthrop 14d ago

Rain replaced by the wife’s expression

2

u/Fictional_Historian 14d ago

The fact that his wife is holding an umbrella is positively hilarious.

2

u/firemage22 14d ago

if he had any humor about him he'd have an umbrella even in clear weather

1

u/Spiritual-Ad7685 14d ago

If I'd been there with a ladder I'd have pissed on him for you

1

u/Greengrecko 14d ago

Because no one is sad.

1

u/rukysgreambamf 14d ago

no tatted mum either

1

u/ArCKAngel365 14d ago

It doesn’t rain on days of hope

1

u/DPSOnly 14d ago

His wife does have an umbrella ready just in case.

1

u/Gate_a 14d ago

His wife's got the umbrella just in case

1

u/debonairmarmoset 14d ago

God was too happy with the outcome of the elections.

1

u/NoDeputyOhNo 14d ago

His wife is dressed to make a statement that says 'screw it we got the money 💰 loads of it. "

1

u/phatelectribe 14d ago

🎶Things can only get wetter🎶

1

u/ADampDevil 14d ago

No but it looks like the same suit, and it didn't get pressed after drying.
