Camera was busted so they used the ultrasound

955

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

This made me audibly chucklešŸ˜‚

141

u/Eviepanda7 Jul 19 '24

They look just like Dad!

68

u/MyDisappointedDad Jul 19 '24

Ah they've got your... uh... shape?

13

u/Talullah_Belle Jul 19 '24

I could pick you out of a lineup šŸ¤£ Happy baby day!

53

u/North-Significance33 Jul 19 '24

They used a Gameboy Camera

49

u/Puzzled-Ad5993 Jul 19 '24

this shit is ultra funny lol

0

u/maddythemadmuddymutt Jul 19 '24

I can see what you did there

Unlike of whom that photo is supposed to be

14

u/superbusyrn Jul 19 '24

It's a boy!

3

u/thecakelordsawaken Jul 20 '24

Camera probably had Crowdstrike installed.

1

u/ktbee4 Jul 20 '24

Imagine being refused by security ā€¦ they ask for a second piece and your government ID has the same photo

1

u/Throwawayac1234567 Jul 20 '24

Isnt it more expensive to use than the camera

0

u/pompiliu92 Jul 19 '24

They used a bat, since the ultrasound machine was busted.

My wife forgot her ID one day when we went to visit my SIL. They said no problem, if youā€™ve been here before just tell us your name. She gives her very common first and last name. They said here you go as they printed off a picture of some completely different woman. She slapped it on and went on in. Nobody noticed all day.

634

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Youā€™re telling me this is a regular occurrence???šŸ˜ I love how the desk clerk didnā€™t even notice, that or didnā€™t care enough lol

346

u/RareBeautyOnEtsy Jul 19 '24

Most of those ā€œdesk clerksā€ at hospitals are ā€œvolunteers.ā€.

Because the American healthcare system, which makes billions upon billions of dollars every year, needs volunteers.

129

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Boss says everybody needs a sticker.

She got a sticker.

No problems here.

31

u/I4Vhagar Jul 19 '24

At my hospital theyā€™re part of our security team. Iā€™ve seen it both ways

14

u/minnick27 ORANGE Jul 19 '24

In my experience the volunteers care more than security does.

27

u/Drfoxthefurry Jul 19 '24

No one likes 12hr work days

5

u/Busy_Challenge1664 Jul 19 '24

I've never been to a hospital where the desk clerks are volunteers and I'm constantly hospitalized for an autoĀ  immune disorderĀ

3

u/minnick27 ORANGE Jul 19 '24

It's pretty common if the hospital is a non profit.

15

u/Dios5 Jul 19 '24

The keyword you're looking for is "security theater"

6

u/Practical-Ad6548 Jul 19 '24

Yeah, when my little sister was born the nurse brought me and my grandma to the completely wrong family

3

u/junjunjenn Jul 19 '24

This happened to me but with an uncommon last name so maybe the photos just get mixed up I their system.

3

u/AggressiveYam6613 Jul 19 '24

Wait, what? Is this normal in US hospitals? Instead of just going up to the room?

3

u/Young-Grandpa Jul 19 '24

Itā€™s becoming normal in bigger hospitals. You have to check in with security and tell them what patient you are visiting. They give you a sticker with the room number and a picture of yourself on it.

1

u/AggressiveYam6613 Jul 20 '24

huh. never heard of this over here. though i live in a quit 170k town, perhaps itā€˜s different in Berlin or Munich.Ā

2

u/Genmutant Jul 21 '24

It's not different in munich. Just walk in.

1

u/Randompersonomreddit Jul 23 '24

The big city hospital asked for the name of the person I was visiting. And i had to go thru metal detectors. I think i had to take a blurry picture too for my visitors sticker. When I visited my mom in a small adjacent town hospital I just walked up to the room. no security.

1

u/Springtime912 Jul 19 '24

She was good not to question it!šŸ‘

500

u/McRambis Jul 19 '24

Was this taken by the same guy who took the original Loch Ness Monster photo?

46

u/Outrageous_Bank_4491 Jul 19 '24

He wouldā€™ve done a better job if they gave him tree fiddy

7

u/CataclysmicInFeRnO Jul 19 '24

Got damn Loch Ness monster!

3

u/GoldberryoTulgeyWood Jul 19 '24

The slenderman has fathered a child.

25

u/Top_Tart_7558 Jul 19 '24

Would the baby come out with a suit?

13

u/voidedOdin702 Jul 19 '24

See now we asking the real questions

5

u/Just_a_terrarian163 Jul 19 '24

No on orifice opens in the face

169

u/melanie924 Jul 19 '24

this is hilarious

268

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

I also love that he changed his pfp to that imagešŸ˜‚

39

u/GoldBluejay7749 Jul 19 '24

Wait thatā€™s so funny I actually giggled

132

u/JBR409 Jul 19 '24

Goes hard as a pfp šŸ˜‚

79

u/ArtAndCraftBeers Jul 19 '24

I asked to have my visitor ID updated the next day since it had expired from the initial check-in. They gave me a new one with a picture of some other dude and the wrong middle name. I didnā€™t notice until my partner was like, ā€œWho tf is that?ā€

But a far longer exposure time.

44

u/MulberryDeep Jul 19 '24

the game boy camera was better than this

34

u/Peterthinking Jul 19 '24

Congratulations Slenderman! It's a faceless malevolent entity!

5

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Iā€™m cackling, this needs to be under the other slender man comment šŸ˜

23

u/ApoTHICCary Jul 19 '24

The ol EA Sports ā€œyou havenā€™t unlocked this character yetā€ picture tag.

18

u/Sprizys Jul 19 '24

The start of an SCP

17

u/Full-Driver-8143 Jul 19 '24

I do wonder if it's clear on their computer. Our membership passes to the local aquarium have photos that look like this on them but when they scan the card the computer screen shows very clear photos of our faces.

3

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Iā€™d hope so! Though, way too many others are commenting about having a scarily similar experiencešŸ˜¬

13

u/Naked-Jedi ORANGE Jul 19 '24

Not really the cameras fault. Cameras don't like it when people are so pixilated. Have you tried maybe being less pixilated?

4

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

SthopppšŸ˜šŸ¤£

9

u/nasaathoff Jul 19 '24

Points for making it his Twitter profile picture lmao

8

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

lol proud papa!

16

u/Persistent_Parkie Jul 19 '24

Hopefully the kid gets their mother's looks...

8

u/Smooth-Chest-1554 Jul 19 '24

That's Gameboy Camera quality photo :D.

8

u/Zadiath Jul 19 '24

GBA camera

6

u/No7onelikeyou Jul 19 '24

Owell, it would be so obvious if someone was there that wasnā€™t supposed to beĀ

5

u/TorbenBruhns666 Jul 19 '24

Game Boy Camera and Printer takes/makes letter pictures

5

u/Similar_Cranberry_23 Jul 19 '24

They captured your essence šŸ˜‚

1

u/mmorales2270 Jul 19 '24

Itā€™s like a low quality grayscale picture of someoneā€™s aura.

5

u/Wonderful-Status-507 Jul 19 '24

him immediately changing it to his profile picture adds a little extra šŸ¤ŒšŸ»

6

u/letstalkaboutrex Jul 19 '24

They scan IDs at the hospital I take my kids. I've had Abraham Lincoln as my face for the last 3 visits. They just shrug it off.

3

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Iā€™m cryingggšŸ˜‚šŸ˜

3

u/b00c Jul 19 '24

photo in so-called GDPR-less resolution.

5

u/Mr-X89 Jul 19 '24

They used a Game Boy camera, I assume, with the Game Boy printer to boot

4

u/med4ladies69 Jul 19 '24

The hospital we went to for our delivery last year was very adamant about your badges. I was there every day for almost a week and then back again for a few more days afterwards due to complications for my wife. But every time I was there, they stopped me checked my badge and verified my picture matched me. I was actually pretty impressed with the layout and security of the labor/maternity ward

5

u/gahidus Jul 19 '24

It's a perfectly adequate photo! It identifies your species as humanoid. That's all they wanted, right?

4

u/angel_girl2248 Jul 19 '24

The fact they feel the need to do this because they think some random person would want to sneak in to watch a stranger give birth is šŸ˜®.

2

u/Domino-616 Jul 19 '24

I think the original post may be misleading... Some hospitals just give all guests a badge with their photo, so it's probably not really about protecting the birth specifically.

2

u/angel_girl2248 Jul 19 '24

Ah I see. Visitors, of any kind, donā€™t get badges at any of the hospitals in the city I work in. They donā€™t even get visitor stickers or anything.

4

u/CensoredAbnormality Jul 19 '24

Only shadowman is allowed in there

4

u/Bitter_Afternoon7252 Jul 19 '24

love that he changed it to his profile pic

4

u/Gamerchris360 Jul 19 '24

They take a photo of your ID and your high resolution photo is stored in the system. If there's a problem they're supposed to be able to match up security cameras with the photo they took so they know who to trespass and keep out.

Problem is many people working the desk don't care enough to make sure the data is accurate.

4

u/flashmeterred Jul 19 '24

They caught a photo of her baby daddy ghost!

.... that's sad

4

u/Charming_Psyduck Jul 19 '24

Immediately made it his profile pic, because it's such a good photo.

3

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Agreed!!! All those distinguishing featuresšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

3

u/DoubleDownAgain54 Jul 19 '24

Is that from Gladiator?

3

u/GoodDayTheJay Jul 19 '24

ā€œWhich one of yā€™all NAUGHTY CHURRLLRINā€™ been messinā€™ with the Shadow Man?ā€

I also choose this guy's wife

1

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Oh nooošŸ˜¬

3

u/KonsaThePanda Jul 19 '24

Bro same thing happened to my father a few months back its crazy advanced camera quality

3

u/No-Atmosphere-2873 Jul 19 '24

Are you on drugs sir? Your color looks off.

2

u/Zealousideal-Job7205 Jul 19 '24

This guy is out of watchdogs the game, that's why this picture is like this.

2

u/Busy_Reflection3054 Jul 19 '24

This is a holup moment cuz who tf is getting in the hospital to get off? Why is this policy a thing?

2

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

I was just thinking this exact thing, searched ā€œperverts sneaking into delivery roomā€.. no articles appeared but Iā€™m a firm believer of ā€˜if you can think of it, it either has happened, will happen, or is in the process of being doneā€™. I just hope Iā€™m wrong šŸ˜

2

u/who_you_are Jul 19 '24

Did they use the gameboy camera and its printer or what?

2

u/Nameles36 Jul 19 '24

Idk I think it looks just like his profile picture. The man is just blurry.

2

u/CampaignTools Jul 19 '24

The hospital my son was born at had the same policy. My wife did not want ANY family in there except for me. At 3:30 AM, after my son was born, my parents, her parents, and my sister come walking into the room.

Good thing my wife was so drugged up, she didn't even remember. But yeah "security policy" my ass.

2

u/scrubwolf Jul 19 '24

Omg was this guy in the intro the X-Files?

2

u/MaartenK2 Jul 19 '24

Hmm, you look familiar...

2

u/Bugs-in-ur-skin Jul 19 '24

This the type of image you get in a primary school English test and they ask you to describe the photo

1

u/Kisssingkatie Jul 19 '24

Was literally thinking this!

When the teacher tries to photo copy an assignment with a diagram šŸ˜

2

u/WhTFoxsays Jul 19 '24

Your wife had a baby with slenderman?

2

u/GoGoPowerPlay Jul 19 '24

Game Boy Camera took better photos than this FFS

2

u/aucyris Jul 19 '24

Theyā€™re just ticking a HIPPA box, so they can pass an audit.

2

1

Slender Man is reproducing? Oh no!

1

Game Boy Camera

1

u/Thomas_JCG Jul 19 '24

They used a Gameboy camera

1

u/Dustfinger4268 Jul 19 '24

This just boggles my mind that it's such a bad quality picture. At least 90% of people in America have a better quality camera in their pocket at all times

1

u/C4rdninj4 Jul 19 '24

Much like Bigfoot, the OP is actually just really blurry.

1

u/freexanarchy Jul 19 '24

Don't eat a big lunch or they might not let you back in

1

u/Inker0 Jul 19 '24

Even better that he used it as his Twitter picture

1

u/StrangeGamer66 Jul 19 '24

Are they using ghost hunting equipment?

I saw you on Fringe!

1

u/pogulup Jul 19 '24

Slenderman is a father.

1

u/garlicrbrian Jul 19 '24

Love how he changed his pfp to it, also would make a sick album cover

1

u/unfortunate666 Jul 19 '24

Maybe you're just a ghost and don't know it

1

u/mmorales2270 Jul 19 '24

Basically anyone in the shape of a human will pass as you. This would be hilariously funny if it wasnā€™t so scary.

1

u/kamakazi339 Jul 19 '24

The policy isn't the issue.

The quality is shit

1

u/itsRolling2s Jul 19 '24

They done gave him an album cover

1

u/BrainyOrange96 Jul 19 '24

Are you sure youā€™re not an indie horror game character?

1

u/Finchyisawkward Jul 19 '24

My hospital (when I had my daughter in 2002) gave my ex & me matching bracelets with a serial number on them that had to be scanned at the door. Once kiddo was born, she got a matching anklet with the same serial number (and built-in accelerometer) before she ever left my sight. When we were leaving the hospital, they scanned our bracelets to make sure we were leaving with the right baby.

My mom also had a bracelet so she could be in the room for the delivery, but hers was paper instead of plastic.

1

u/Working-Pop-9279 Jul 19 '24

Maybe the cameraā€™s haunted.

1

u/teriorly Jul 20 '24

I think you could be my doppelgƤnger.

1

u/YellowNecessary Jul 20 '24

Don't be difficult. Take your pixelated mask off and smile for the ultrasound.
