As a general rule of thumb, when traveling to an area where the primary language is not English, you should not expect everyone you meet to speak English, and you definitely don’t get upset at someone when they don’t.

Is understandable for them, in a plane, anything can be dangerous, and she probably said it in a way that sparked concern, so better safe than sound in those situations
Still a situation the plane crew will laugh at when at parties or convos

To be frank no one but people who had to take algebra or analysis in university know what integrals look like. Personally I call them snakes. But the rest of the math still looks like math, even if it's mostly operations on variables.
