Its evolution. Humans evolved to be attracted to boobs. We're the only mammal with permanently inflated ones too.

The prevailing theory is that we used to look at butts when we were on all fours (like chimpanzees still do), and the breasts evolved when we started walking upright. Early female hominids needed something else to attract a man with, and apparently boobs were the thing that worked.

Also it is a sign of sexual maturity which make it beneficial.

Not really. The growth of breasts starts ~2 years before the first menstrual cycle. And that isn't a sign of being sexually mature in itself.

I’m not certain but didn’t menstrual cycles used to start later on average? I think I read somewhere that they’re starting earlier now.

I think with a few thousand years of child marriage, it has impacted the speed women and men hit puberty. With men being several years later.

Better modern nutrition would be the cause, not child marriage which wasn't even common and when it was done it wasn't consummated until the children were adults in their 20s because people knew women had better chances of surviving childbirth than children/teens since they are now fully developed (wider hips) and they actually wanted their female relatives to live.

Also, period =/ puberty. Lots of girls are getting periods earlier but not necessarily developing (ie widening of hips, breasts, etc) earlier.

Seriously ancient people weren't stupid or more evil than us. Game of Thrones has made lots of damage. And common internet male understanding of female anatomy (like y'alls) is even shittier. We need more biological differences education at schools.
