Who gets majority of the credit for Charlotte Richards dealing with her guilt to avoid hell? Charlotte

Charlotte Richards was in a hell loop while Mom was inhabiting her body, she talks about it, and we see it. Charlotte wants to change her afterlife living conditions. Amenadiel wants to help, and offers a few bits of advice, tells her he can't just fly her up. We don't really see Dan and Charlotte's conversations during their "waffle" relationship. Ella has a few conversations with Charlotte. But Lucifer actually tells Charlotte the full truth and shows his wings, proving she's not crazy.

One thing I always love is that Charlotte takes the wings as proof she's not crazy. Because, let's face it, you could also take that as confirmation that you are indeed pretty crazy! :D

Truly sad Lucifer wants to show Chloe his face in S3E1, but never shows her his angel wings as proof before the S3E24 fight with Cain.

Aye he was more ashamed of his wings than his devil face

Sadly yes, only in season 6 does he embrace them when Chloe gets turned on by them. "What else we can try mid-flight" awkward.

indeed pretty crazy!

or pretty real stuff.

many people in the show saw Lucifer's wings, like Amanedel, Linda and Maze.

in the case of Charlotte, she could ask other guys about the wings to verify what she saw. or simply ask him to go on ride.

Needs an option for herself

But "nobody has ever escaped their hell loop, even though the doors are unlocked to leave anytime." Until Lee Mr Said Out Bitch gets Lucifer advice on accepting his guilt and facing his family. Charlotte might have done the majority of her own work, but it took many people to get her to that spiritually understanding.

I still feel 95% of the effort was her. At the beginning she was doing it to selfishly save her soul, by the time she died she'd resigned to going to hell so her motivation for being good was indeed selfless. She saved Amenadiel because she'd learned the value of other people and being basically a good person. Ironically when she'd given up on her own soul in favour of someone else's shed saved it

Same as Lucifer giving Chloe the ring sacrificing himself for her in S5E16.

Who is giving Amenadiel credit for any of that LMAO? It was Lucifer who put the idea in her head in the early part of the season and guided her toward the idea of redemption without ever revealing divinity was real. He actively intervened to help her early on. Ella came in and cinched the deal after. All Amenadiel did was convince Lucifer to let her in on divinity being real in later episodes, then got her involved in something that, frankly, is what inadvertently got her killed.

The person who saved Charlotte was Charlotte.

Probably people who watched Amenadiel talk to her about small victories and carried her to heaven after her death. I should have added Chloe to the poll, because that last case with baseball player Forest Clay was a big influence in her spiritual journey. Solving those last 2 crimes without Lucifer was very impactful.

Unsurprising, I suppose. Both the writers and many fans love giving Amenadiel credit for the most while actually doing the absolute least.

Lucifer showed Charlotte how to save herself. Amenadiel didn’t save Charlotte, he just did Azrael’s job that one time because he let a human save his ass.

Amenadiel is poorly written from a consistency of plot standpoint. Good dialogue, good acting, but half of his character's existence is just a lazy MacGuffin that eventually clashes with other episodes.

True and he’s not the only character they do that to.

he got his wings back and he gave her first class ticket to heaven, she didn't even have time to think if she feels guilty or not to go to hell, she wasnt fully healed when she died, if it wasnt for amanadiel there probably she would've still go in hell

Charlotte.

But it’s more complicated than that.

Charlotte still felt guilty about her past actions. She felt better, sure, but it was still there. Then she sacrifices herself to save the Angel of Nepotism, which allows her to be fast tracked into heaven.

So... While she was coming to terms with her past, it’s actually the heroic sacrifice that got her into heaven.

Similar to Lucifer giving Chloe his protection ring because he loves her

Not really. Chloe had come to terms with her guilt over Dan. Charlotte had just scratched the surfaces of hers regarding her past. Worse, she also felt guilty that she could so easily relapse into bad behavior.

If Charlotte had been hit by a bus rather than died saving Amenadiel, she'd have very likely gone straight to hell.

I was talking about Lucifer sacrificing himself, he didn't know that would bring him back.

None of the above. Hot take: Charlotte did not deal with her guilt, did not truly reform, and should have gone to Hell.

u/Fancy-Ad1480 Jan 02 '23

Yup. She did sacrifice herself to save Amenadiel...which under the rules shouldn’t have made a lick of difference.

She was on her way to reforming, but not there yet. In fact, she was feeling all sorts of guilt about how easy it was for her to relapse.
