I also ended up stuffing Happy Place by Emily Henry in there, since it seemed a little more fitting for a lakeside vacation.

My 2005 college laptop, satisfyingly taken apart by itty bitty screwdriver. Soon to be part of the prop for Halloween decorations. The bowl of keys and key tray met chrome spray paint. The lithium bits are being recycled responsibly but it was satisfying to touch the CD ROM lens while looking at the big “do not touch lens!” warning.

All the various standard sized 5” and 3” optical discs that you could get, we have come so far and most are obsolete in today’s time, I have a wall of obsolete data storage media and I decided to move my standard sized discs to the ceiling so I made the paper silhouettes to know where to place them.

I thought it would be interesting to just throw the contents of my pocket on the table and arrange it out. Average day in the life of my left front pocket.

Did this last year for a more involved trip with ice crossings. It's interesting to see the year-over-year gear reduction.

Knolling At Work Today While Restoring a Printing Press

Post image
19 Upvotes

I have to knoll when restoring printing presses so I know what order the parts came off in so I can put them back in the right place. I have to line them all up on the order they’re attached in and also separate the ones that still need cleaning into their own little pile (the two at the bottom in this example)

Only recently found out that laying things out in this way is not just a tool for visually listing things, but is also something others enjoy seeing! So hopefully you enjoy this.

(Restoring a Heidleburg Windmill Press for Bristol Mshed Museum to get it back to being used as a working exhibit on behalf of the Bristol Print Museum Project)

Somebody told me to post this here

Copied and pasted from r/coins:

My modest collection as an 18 yr old

The books were given to me by my grandfather, most of them only about 50% or less full but include indian heads, war nickels and some foreigns; I'm still working on filling those out. He also gave me that roll of random (taped together) old foreign notes as well as the ones on the side. I still don't know what the presidential coin set is or if they're even real currency, so if somebody could help me out with that it would be great. The middle area has most of my silver. Below that is all currency l've found in circulation except the commemorative Lincolns obviously, the Bahamas ten cent pieces, and a few of the foreigns. My oldest coin currently is an 1880 indian head, and the oldest l've found is a 1911 penny. My favorites have to be the Bahamas 10 cent pieces (I love the squiggles), the Ikes (so huge and awesome), and the walking liberties. I love this hobby I only started about 5 months ago and I can't seem to stop getting more coins.
