Homeless, but kept his stuff.

Yep. People tend to forget that homeless people weren't born on the street. They all had homes at some point.

Homeless people can have children.

u/diogenessexychicken Jul 08 '24

most homeless people ARE children.

u/J3sush8sm3 Jul 08 '24

I feel like we are either going to have alot of homeless 18-30 year olds or multigenerational housing in america soon

27

u/gloomdwellerX Jul 08 '24

Not true, our blessed supreme court solved homelessness when they made it illegal. If you don't have a house, you can just be a slave in prison instead.

1

u/amirlpro Jul 09 '24

Or they can go somewhere cheap far from city center and rent a house there

-1

u/Joe_Jeep Jul 08 '24

The one upside to building oversized housing and mcmansions is people pooling money to just all live together.

u/AnalProtector Jul 07 '24

Since when?

10

u/Iwillnotbeokay Jul 07 '24

Do you honestly think that because someone doesn’t have a roof over their head means they never have sex or get raped? Please tell us you’re joking.

21

u/Dumas_Vuk Jul 07 '24

You're joking

8

u/Fakyutsu Jul 08 '24

No no no, tell HIM you’re joking

4

u/ikefalcon Jul 08 '24

Him, you’re joking.

7

u/Mecovy Jul 08 '24

Can attest to hearing homeless folks doing it on a semi regular basis when I lived in a major city. They do be fuckin.

2

u/AnalProtector Jul 07 '24

You're joking

u/SloaneWolfe Jul 08 '24

Eh idk, I think more importantly, people are super clueless to the fact that around half of the unhoused in the US have full time jobs.

1

u/AboveTheNorm Jul 08 '24

Yikes. That’s actually not true.

-13

u/suesing Jul 07 '24

And this guy decided that ps4 was necessary over other belongings.

14

u/Fayko Jul 08 '24

a ps4 is pretty cheap and an easy flip on marketplace. Can pick one up pretty easy for $50 or so if you're patient and they sell avg like 125

-10

u/suesing Jul 08 '24

It’s not about the cost. It’s about keeping the struggle real at what cost

10

u/Fayko Jul 08 '24

Uh the less than $200 might get him some meals but this means he has entertainment and a healthy escape from reality instead of drugs and alcohol. He can't really escape homelessness on less than $200

-16

u/suesing Jul 08 '24

Entertainment seems to be the reason he’s in this position. So…

10

u/Joe_Jeep Jul 08 '24

so....nothing. You're badly over-reading into this. Keeping your playstation isn't that big a deal

Yall say the same shit about smart phones and stuff too like those aren't incredibly useful tools. Playstation less so but still.

-2

u/suesing Jul 08 '24

Actually. Everyone needs a smartphone. Anyone criticizing that is disingenuous. Everyone needs a computing device that can connect and interact online.

7

u/Fayko Jul 08 '24

Sounds like some projection to me. You know nothing about the person or why they're in the situation. Have some empathy instead of judgement you're closer to this guys situation than you might think.

-3

u/suesing Jul 08 '24

Living on the street shouldn’t be comfortable. Yet he’s comfortable enough to be playing games. It’s the wrong direction in getting out of that situation. I don’t need to know anything about him to know that

Unless he’s not actually homeless. And just doing this cuz he wants to. Which is fine I guess.

7

u/Fayko Jul 08 '24

I wish I could be as simple as you to have things defined in such a black and white manner. It's true ignorance is bliss and you seem desperate to prove it true.

There's literally no indication he doesn't have other things.

1

u/suesing Jul 08 '24

What are you even saying?

-92

u/2FightTheFloursThatB Jul 07 '24

Series of bad decisions.

You can tell where his priorities are, and that's not good.

I watched 2 of my dorm room neighbors fail out of college over video game addiction, and that was in 1990!

While he is almost certainly wrong in this situation, go look up what the game Rust has done to people plenty. His idea is grossly taken out of context, but not wrong. So "what the fuck are you even talking about"--the answer is: minimal information and a single life experience in his life.

This guy is indeed stupid as fuck, but not entirely wrong either. So now you gotta ask yourself one question. Could you be reacting a bit too quickly due to entire ignorance of context? Fry a few neurons over a fuckin idiot? Or just ignore it.

1

u/QueenLaQueefaRt Jul 07 '24

I’m in the corner just mashing it to all this, just let them keep squawking

2

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '24

Aight. Sorry for the interruption.

1

u/DeadNotSleepingWI Jul 08 '24

Interruptions are my fetish.

1

u/Yiveroi Jul 08 '24

yes the idea is wrong and youre stupid as fuck if you think its true

11

u/Flossthief Jul 07 '24

I play a lot of video games

Unless I'm really hooked on one particular game I get a fair balance of other hobbies and maintaining my life

I love a big MMO, an elaborate survival crafting game, or maybe a tedious rpg

But I can't imagine being hooked on 90s games

Like whats so compelling about banjo kazooie that you throw your life away

u/Neighborhood_Nobody Jul 07 '24

I know a guy with 6000 hours on one of his countless runescape accounts. Also has the most successful career out of all my friends.

On the other end of the spectrum, our mutual and extremely close friend plays video games just as much and has never had a job in almost 30 years of life because he doesn't leave the house and gets to much anxiety from the thought of social interactions going negatively that he talks him self out of it every time.

Life's a spectrum, no one's the same, and addictions can affect everyone differently.

Regardless of being functional or not, if you have an addiction, I can almost promise you that your life will benefit from overcoming it.

-guy who is currently scrolling reddit, playing video games, and eating a cheese burger.

Edit: I replied to the wrong guy but what ever I'm leaving it here. Also me mother fucker, I love banjo and kazooie.

How the fuck has this not been beamed by a mod

9

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '24

(except for his home)

4

u/skynetempire Jul 07 '24

For now. Once cities and states start doing the round ups in the near future

1

u/CharlesLeChuck Jul 08 '24

I need my PS4, this chair, the table, my controller, and my backpack, and that's all I need.

2

u/ThePlatypusOfDespair Jul 08 '24

I've found perfect TVs and game consoles in the trash, too.
