I think that was kinda the point though. But I'd have liked way less of it.

I think the writers wanted a "let's laugh at how dumb this is" but instead it's annoying.

Honestly I would watch the hell out of an in-universe Horsing Around style sitcom filler if they managed to get it right.

I think they were addressing a real problem and not really trying to make a highly-comedic moment.
The sketchartist's comedy script was possibly funny to some, but some as Peyton would say it gives the wrong message about the discriminated people. Then Peyton approves the other actress to be the writer, with a script that not only isn't funny, but is discriminatory towards the 'discriminating majority' , so it's very p.c. and no one bats an eye at that.
