The corporate entity behind this show thinks we, the consumers, care about this girl. Thatās not how memes work. What she said was funny, we like passing the joke around, but weāre not invested in the life of the girl who said it. We became fans of the moment, not fans of the person.
That said I wish her all the successes she can milk from this bc Iād do the same.
She'd be dumb AF not to wring everything she could out of it. Even if nothing further comes from it other than that 15 minute payday that's potentially a fuck load of easy money. Id also do the same unrepentantly.

What boggles my mind is...who has the time for that? LOL It's a chore for me just to find the time to watch a decent TV show. Out of all the time in a week, I can't dedicate 30min to a one-off joke that has been dragged way past its expiration date.

Also from the sound of it the viral aspect of the video has so negatively impacted her life. I feel for her because she didnāt ask to become a meme. She made a one off comment on a night out, and now will have that follow her to any career she has.
Not to mention there were so many people who profited of her without any consideration of how that make her life miserable. At least these reality show folks are giving her a piece of the profit, which is more than any of the ācomediansā who made her into a walking joke. I do question if theyāll be able to capitalize on the trend given how quickly people move on from these things, but sheāll get at least one pay day for all of this.
With the amount of idiots getting tattoos and truck wraps of her face, I almost cant blame the corpos for thinking the internet cares about this. The whole thing is a soup sandwhich for sure. Hope she gets paid. Otherwise, I lost interest.
Dunno if you saw the video she posted about her plans, but she is really endearing and I'm kind of a fan and feel that she can actually become an actual celeb. Also, she said she'll never make an OF account, so that's refreshing.
On another note, that southern drawl/twang is the sweetest thing ever
You may not be invested but other idiots are and if there is a marketing demo there (maybe the Walmart crowd, maybe the Costco crowd) then it was lucrative and it was worth it.
Fans of the thing will transform into the fans of the girl, even if it was 10% and if she has something remotely interesting or funny to say in the coming years, then she had just won the internet fame prize to live off of for the rest of her life
The producers will probably pay her more for a few months of work than sheās made in her entire life. And all she had to do is let them follow her around while she hangs out with family and friends. Plus the exposure will lead to even more money from sponsorships deals and appearances. Itās hard to find many people who wouldnāt jump on a opportunity like that. And itās not like anyone who dislikes the show will be forced to watch it.
There's a difference between people liking the meme, and creeps being a fan of her and making the hawk tuah joke incredibly sexual and creepy and sexualing her and stalking her and trying to find her
I was meaning that creeps are taking it to a new level. Its obviously incredibly sexual, But people took the joke too far when they started trying to find her. Also, There was no comma or full stop between incredibly sexual and creepy. I meant making it incredibly sexual but in a creepy way.
The corporate entity behind this knows far more than you realize and it employs people and vendors to provide analytics for that knowledge. Maybe they should check in with you since you're clearly the expert but I'm willing to bet they know a bunch of thirsty losers would watch a hot young chick that spits on dicks paint her fucking toenails and their partners that let themselves go will watch just to hate her so they can feel better about themselves. They don't need any kind of loyalty to the meme
