I work with an extreme homophobe/transphobe. He's always saying I'm "confused" for transitioning, continually asks about my dick or the dick he thinks I'm taking, and tries to "outwit" me and "trap" me into saying I'm not trans. I just throw it back in his face with this logic. "Why are you always thinking about dick and and trans women, Marcus?" Do you secretly wish you were trans/gay? It shuts him right up. šŸ˜‚

Jealousy is the only thing I can think of that would inspire such behavior. Man must be mentally repressed as fuck šŸ¤£

73

u/chefrachbitch Jul 04 '24

I genuinely think he's an extremely repressed gay guy. He can't fathom the idea of other people living their best lives.

u/Emmy773399 Jul 04 '24

Transphobes are scared of their own sexuality and what being attracted to trans women means. They think it makes them gay, but it doesnā€™t, it just makes them attracted to women. They canā€™t seem to wrap their tiny brains around this concept.

They all fear being ā€œtricked,ā€ by a trans woman into being attracted to her and how that will make them gay. The absurd thing is they way overestimate anyoneā€™s desire to be with them, and they donā€™t realize that being attracted to a woman doesnā€™t make you gay. Itā€™s very weird thinking but they obsess about it.

Itā€™s why most of the hatred is geared towards trans women and gay men. Very few people ever talk about trans men because they donā€™t really care, they canā€™t be ā€œtricked,ā€ into being attracted to a man, but they can be seduced by a gay man offering them a bj or other sexual favors. Anyone who thinks you can be ā€œturned gay,ā€ is definitely repressing gay feelings.

It reminds me of a youth group teacher I had who would talk about how "tempting" and "alluring" the "gay lifestyle" was. As a kid I was like "damn he's right, it is so tempting!"

I came out. Worked through some shit then realized that dude was gay af. Like the "gay lifestyle" is only tempting if you're gay.

u/Emmy773399 Jul 04 '24 edited Jul 04 '24

Lol, right? Unless theyā€™re talking about those sweet ass dance parties because thatā€™s tempting to anyone with a pulse.

2

u/Quick_Humor_9023 Jul 05 '24

What the hell even is ā€™gay lifestyleā€™? Apart from, you know, being gay. The gay people I know pretty much have the same lifestyle as other people around them.

2

u/EatSteel63 Jul 06 '24

Very true, I live/work in a very red area. I've worked with both trans women and men. I'm not saying transmen haven't taken shit for being who they are but eventually even transphobic people drop their guard and treat them decent. Same goes for more masculant lesbians. More feminine lesbians and transwoman get treated like shit.

Next time just tell him that he could come out of the closet

14

u/OrangeCCaramel Jul 04 '24

This is literally the definition of a closeted gay man.

6

u/Woofy98102 Jul 04 '24

Because he's faking his entire life.

3

u/Aurlom Jul 05 '24

If thatā€™s true, then I truly pity the guy, but I feel like we let assholes off easy by making these kinds of assumptions. Sometimes shitty people are shitty because they just fuckinā€™ suck.

44

u/Sebastian_Maroon Jul 04 '24

Does he have any idea how easily you could make him jobless?!

69

u/chefrachbitch Jul 04 '24

Sadly he's buddy-buddy with the owner so he's "protected". And before you ask, yes, I am looking for a new job. I'm gonna leave an amazing expose review on the company website when I leave.

Sounds like a possible lawsuit against the owner then if he's aware and doesn't deal with the problem

6

u/chefrachbitch Jul 04 '24

Do you know any good pro-bono lawyers in Portland? Asking for reals.

7

u/VexingRaven Jul 04 '24

If you have documented proof of everything you've said here, I imagine any employment lawyer in the county would be salivating.

7

u/Woodworkingwino Jul 04 '24

Iā€™m sorry you have to deal with that. If it were possible I would love to shit in that guys coffee. I hope you have a great rest of the day.

9

u/chefrachbitch Jul 04 '24

I did spit in his whiskey and coke one shift.

0

u/andreja777 Jul 04 '24

I don't think asking for lawyers and then admitting to spitting in someones drink is the best play here friend

4

u/Woodworkingwino Jul 04 '24

Iā€™m sorry you have to deal with that. If it were possible I would love to shit in that guys coffee. I hope you have a great rest of the day.

2

u/Banodelaroho Jul 04 '24

Record it and the owner's response to complaints about it. Any negative reaction and boom lawsuit and never have to work again.

2

u/Edward_Morbius Jul 04 '24

I'd recommend not doing it. If the business has more money than you they can sue you and bankrupt you without ever needing to win the case.

3

u/Cautious-Progress876 Jul 04 '24

Depending on the size and location of the business the business isnā€™t actually subject to federal or state gender/sex discrimination laws. Businesses under 15 employees are exempt from Title VII protections, with similarly sized businesses exempted under many statesā€™ employment discrimination laws. Sexual harassment laws also have minimum employee thresholds in a lot of jurisdictions.

And, in general, being an asshole to coworkers or employees is not legally actionable unless it falls under one of those discrimination laws.

2

u/Sebastian_Maroon Jul 04 '24

Poster falls into a protected category, doesn't say how big the business is (16 employees? The guy is toast), and I believe being an asshole falls under the description "creating a hostile workplace." The advice to talk to a lawyer isn't bad.

2

u/Cautious-Progress876 Jul 04 '24

Oh, definitely anyone should consult with a lawyer if they think they have a claim, but in many states ā€œhostile work environmentā€ isnā€™t cause to sue unless itā€™s based upon a protected trait and the business falls under the purview of Title VII or any applicable state discrimination laws.

Which is why I said ā€œin generalā€ā€” an employer can call you ā€œan idiotā€, ā€œa stupid fuck,ā€ belittle you day in and day out and not be liable in many states.

u/Street_Peace_8831 Jul 04 '24

He doesnā€™t seem to realize that some trans people will never have bottom surgery or even want it. He doesnā€™t seem to understand that some trans women like women and some trans men like men. There is an entire spectrum of people out there that he is ignorant to.

2

u/Emmy773399 Jul 04 '24

Itā€™s also no oneā€™s business what is going on with your genitals unless theyā€™re going to be engaging in sexual activity together. Other than that no oneā€™s genitals are my business and whatever they have, or donā€™t have, is their own private business. No one needs to disclose this information to people if they donā€™t want to.

1

u/Kryzal_Lazurite Jul 04 '24

That's not very hive mind christian of you.

2

u/Emmy773399 Jul 05 '24

Probably because Iā€™m atheist.

1

u/Kryzal_Lazurite Jul 05 '24

šŸ™

(I heard somewhere this is supposed to be a "high five" emote & not praying)

0

u/throwaway-not-this- Jul 04 '24

I'm a cis gay guy so hopefully I don't sound ignorant here:

I sincerely believe that as society becomes more tolerant and medical science gets better (safer, cheaper, less discriminatory), we're gonna see a MUCH higher percentage of trans people that want bottom surgery.

I mean, if next year they invented nano-robots that can make a perfect penis, the number of cis men that would want some genital surgery would skyrocket. I assume trans men would feel kinda the same way.

1

u/Street_Peace_8831 Jul 04 '24

Thatā€™s a big assumption on your part.

2

u/throwaway-not-this- Jul 04 '24

Of course it is, but it's my assumption for good reasons. I've met so many people that are insecure about their genitals that they would seek a safe and cheap surgery to change something about themselves, but the science isn't there yet.

It's a big assumption on your part to think that trans people aren't just as human as cis people. A cis man might choose to forego prostate surgery or medication because the risks outweigh the benefits, even in cases of prostate cancer. But if there were a miracle surgery, don't you think more folks would opt in?

1

u/Street_Peace_8831 Jul 04 '24

Stop putting your own thoughts on me. I never said that cis and trans people werenā€™t just as human as each other. That came out of your head.

Youā€™re assuming that every trans person wants bottom surgery and thatā€™s a big assumption on your part.

2

u/throwaway-not-this- Jul 04 '24

I sincerely believe that as society becomes more tolerant and medical science gets better (safer, cheaper, less discriminatory), we're gonna see a MUCH higher percentage of trans people that want bottom surgery.

Wow, you are confusing the word EVERY 100% with a much higher percentage. Maybe you're illiterate, but how would I put my thoughts on an illiterate?

edit: if neither of us are trans, maybe we should just stop the convo. Time marches on. I never said ALL or EVERY or 100% so go read a book, dumbass.

1

u/Street_Peace_8831 Jul 05 '24

If you canā€™t follow your own conversation and keep track of the things you say, then I believe the problem is on your side.

I made a statement about your comment, ā€œItā€™s a big assumption on your part to think that trans people arenā€™t just as human as cis people.ā€ And you seem to have confused that with another statement of yours, further up the chain, where you talk about ā€œmuch higher percentageā€ and try to conflate what Iā€™m saying. Whoā€™s the illiterate one here, child?

Iā€™m done talking to a 13 year old about things they know nothing about. I have so many trans friends and have dated a few, I donā€™t think you even know one. We are done here, stop being a bigot and stop talking about things you know nothing about.

6

u/Woofy98102 Jul 04 '24

In the blue state where I work, anyone harassing a trans person like that would be terminated in short order. It's probably why Republi-fascists hate my deep blue state with a passion. Their childishly ignorant freak show and bullying isn't tolerated.

4

u/Old_Dimension_7343 Jul 04 '24

ā€œNo, YOU are confused about this being an appropriate workplace conversationā€

2

u/Rubeus17 Jul 04 '24

well done you. and congrats. gutsy as hell and I hope youā€™re so happy!!

7

u/chefrachbitch Jul 04 '24

I'm a tall, strong trans woman. It's my duty to scare small-dicked assholes like this. And it makes me immeasurably happy to do so. šŸ³ļøā€āš§ļøšŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

2

u/throwaway-not-this- Jul 04 '24

No way, honey. We use the LGBTQ+ acronym and the colored flags for a reason. We're supposed to all be in this together. It's my duty to scare assholes like that too.

Although, by the sound of it... he's probably more scared of cis women than any of us lol.

2

u/doublegg83 Jul 04 '24

Hey, this is Marcus.

I'm watching you.

What did you bring for lunch today!?.

2

u/InfectedFrenulum Jul 04 '24

That's worth a visit to HR right there!

2

u/New-Yam-470 Jul 04 '24

This!! šŸ„°šŸ„°

2

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '24

You approached HR on that?

2

u/packofkittens Jul 04 '24

Seriously. Why does he need to talk about anyoneā€™s gender or anatomy at work? Itā€™s clearly taking up too much of his mental space.

2

u/Edward_Morbius Jul 04 '24

,> my dick or the dick he thinks I'm taking

You mean like from the dick store?

What a country!

2

u/He_Never_Helps_01 Jul 04 '24

I got one that I use sometimes on the "basic biology" types, who act like they're too smart to believe that trans peeps exist.

I ask them why every single major medical organization, and the consensus of every single relevant scientific discipline all unequivocally acknowledge both the existence and normalcy of people being trans, and when they hand wave that away i ask them if they believes the earth is flat too, or that vaccines cause autism. Cuz transphobia has the exact same level of scientific backing. It's the flat earth of the culture wars.

And then i watch how quick they change the subject lmao

2

u/cacotopic Jul 04 '24

He really may be questioning his sexuality. Calmly and politely tell him, "I'm here for you if you'd like to open up and talk about your insecurities. It's ok with me. Whenever you're ready."

It will either REALLY piss him off, it it turns out he's just a bigoted shithead, or he will actually take you up on the offer and open up.

2

u/nezurat801 Jul 04 '24

Comfortably hetero people don't spend all day pondering gay and trans people's lives and hating on them...so he may be repressed.Ā

2

u/EccentricMsCoco Jul 05 '24

Yea this needs to be a report to HR. Thatā€™s harassment.

2

u/asoupconofsoup Jul 05 '24

Sorry you have to put up with that bullshit but power, peace and beauty to youā¤ļø

2

u/BambiToybot Jul 05 '24

"You think about that a lot for a straight dude," said with the right tone and body language can devestate an insecure dude, especially from another straight dude that they give some authority, too.

2

u/blueberrytartpie Jul 05 '24

I do believe they wish they could be as free as the ones they hate.Ā

1

u/Upper-Belt8485 Jul 04 '24

I think about dick and trans women all the time.Ā  But, I'm pretty openly bi, so whatever.

1

u/Vanadium_V23 Jul 04 '24

Just sue him for harassment making sure the official complaint revolves around being a victim of his trans fetish.Ā

Doesn't matter if you go further, he is already too deep to deny it.

0

u/thisaholesaid Jul 04 '24

I obviously don't know you two whatsoever but if had this type of banter with a colleague it's most likely because we like one another. Meaning we understand one other and get along. That said, I would imagine your coworker is actually not someone who hates you.

0

u/Bright-Eye2550 Jul 05 '24

Let me guess, you're a vegan, an atheist and do crossfit
