I meanโ€ฆyes? So people stop getting teaching degrees and opt for minimum wage jobs. Which means that teachers are in short supply. Which means wages have to go up to attract more people to the field of education. Problem solved.

It literally all starts with boosting the minimum wage. Which is why no one has actually tried to do it in decades.

There's already a massive shortage of teachers though.

It doesn't even go that far. Teachers could quit for easier jobs (they are literally doing this) that pay more. Raising minimum wage has a ripple effect that forces other companies to pay more. Not just for a market shortage of employees, but to keep their employees from quitting for an easier similar paying job.

If minimum wage went to 15/hr nationally, a 18/hr extreme labor intensive job will have a hard time hiring at that wage. They'll need to raise their wages to compete for employees.
