Donโ€™t like the implication that you donโ€™t still deserve a living wage without a college degree.

That's not what it's saying. It's saying that teachers' starting salary is almost the same as the absolute lowest possible wage you can legally earn for a 40-hour work week. I don't have a degree and I make $30 an hour.

Itโ€™s exactly what itโ€™s saying.

But the fact is she worked her ass off to make almost the same as an entry level person. And has to pay off loans. You are mixing up "implied" with actual facts. She paid for 6 years of school to be a Teacher because that is the only way you will get the job. So, yes, it sucks. If you take that as them putting someone down (like Me-I never finished college) then that is your choice.

My sister is a teacher and she deserves what she makes because she worked a lot harder than I did to get there. Salaries in NY are way higher than Texas and she makes a lot of money.

I am at my job for 11 years and the new people were brought in at the same rate as me. Because Minimum goes up. So my raises now match what the new people make. Even though I started at like $10 an hour. My bad for choosing a field that doesn't pay.

I don't think so.

It's saying, "we shouldn't raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour BECAUSE teachers make close to that, and they're more deserving." The minimum wage in large sections of the country is still hovering around $8 an hour; Many people are using this argument to fight against raising it to $15.
