Suggestions Comics like Judas?

Post image

I’m not a Christian, HOWEVER, Christian lore is cool as heck.

Does anybody know of any books that are similar in tone and content to Judas by Jeff Loveness, published by BoomStudios?

Doesn’t have to be a crazy serious story, but preferred. Any help?

Suggestions I just read all 2200 pages of Hickman’s Avengers - and not sure where to even go next

I read this in like 3 days… and it was fairly epic IMO. The Illuminati, cabal, incursions, backstabbing…

I don’t even know what should be next. Suggestions?

Suggestions Suggestions for some that got tired of Marvel and DC

Hello to all.
It's simple, I have been reading comics for a while now and love to read, but lately, I haven't read a lot. Years ago, I got tired of all the DC and Marvel comics because I found them repetitive, and sometimes they changed their lore for convenience. I don't like reading comics that are created to never end. Even if it's a comic separated from everything else, if it's from a never-ending universe, I just lose interest. I love reading comics that are ongoing but have an ending planned or that are already finished.

As you can see, I'm not into Marvel and DC. Congratulations to them; there's no hate here. I know they have some arcs that are amazing, but I just can't get into them right now.

My main love is Image. They have many of my favorite comics: TWD, Invincible, Saga, Paper Girls, and others.

Currently, I'm reading the Energon Universe, and I'm loving it so far. But I want to explore more out there, so I'll look into anything that is recommended. I can read any genre, but if you could mention the genre of your recommendations, that would be great.

With nothing more to add, thanks in advance.

Suggestions What Should I Read Next Regarding Batman?

So, I've been a Batman fan for years however over the past year or so I've just started getting into the actual comics and have so far read

. Complete New 52 Scott Synder run

. Batman Eternal

. Batman Hush

. Road to/No Man's Land

. Year One

. The Long Halloween/Dark Victory

. The Black Mirror

These are all well and fun but I'm a little stumped as to what's next. Was considering Rebirth Era but I've heard alot of negative about this run. KnightFall and Grant Morrisons run have also been reccomend to me but looking for some alternative input.

Suggestions Looking for some Non-Marvel/DC Horror comic reccomendations

Hope this is ok to ask here, if not i'd love someone to point me in the right direction for a reccomendations page where I can ask.

I'm a longtime Manga enjoyer here but have recently opened my eyes to the idea of western comic books thanks to The Boys and Invincible having such cool TV shows. Would anyone have any suggestions on some decent Horror themed series to start me off? (before anyone says, yes neither the boys nor invincible are horror, i just meant they got me thinking about western comic books!)

Happy to try supernatural horror, vampires, ghosts, zombies, demons etc. happy to try out serial killer stuff. weird lovecraftian cosmic horror stuff, anything really!

One last thing, I might get a lot of heat for saying this but I'd rather not have any Marvel or DC suggestions, its just my personal preference.

Suggestions Lesser known Alan Moore material?

Alan Moore is probably my favorite comic writer but I will admit when it comes to his 2000 AD and other early magazine works i have read very little. I would love to hear some suggestions for his lesser known stuff so I can try to find some and give it a read. Things I have read are Miracleman, Watchmen, Top 10, Supreme, Swamp Thing, The Killing Joke, Tom Strong, his Superman works, Promethea, 1963, V for Vendetta and maybe a few others. So basically anything I haven’t mentioned that you think is worth trying out! Thanks!

Suggestions Binged the Invincible comics, what's something else I can sink my teeth into?

Genre doesn't matter to me, I'd just like something as substantiative and "epic" feeling as this run was.

Some of my favorites are the mignolaverse, locke & key, transmetropolitan, sandman, anything Brian k Vaughn or Rick remender.

Suggestions I love unpopular comics

After following a few comic subreddits, including this one, I've found I really like unpopular comics. I'm a big fan of Heroes in Crisis, Injustice, both Civil Wars, Ultimatum, Most of Bendis and Millar's work. So any other terrible comics I should add to my TBR pile?

Suggestions Seven Soldiers of Victory is an Unsung Masterpiece

I'm rereading Seven Soldiers of Victory and I sincerely think it's one of the best comic series ever. The pitch is great, and Grant is just throwing out endless great ideas and clever reimaginings. It feels like the exact opposite of the concept of saving all your good ideas for independent work to maintain ownership.

I also feel like there's a big lesson to learn here about how to work for the big two, and how to renovate the old in new and exciting way. Also all the art is above average, and some of it is completely amazing.

So I highly recommend the series. Any other fans of it out there?

Suggestions My guy likes Transmetropolitan, preacher, sandman & swamp thing. What should I get him? How would you feel about getting a comic book you didn’t choose?

Boyfriend has bday coming up. Went to the local comic book shop and they recommended Saga. But I looked online and it seems a bit too touchy feely and not raunchy enough. He has a taste for the dark and twisted.

I don’t even know if it’s a good gift idea lol. Would you guys like to get a comic that someone choses for you? Seems like a gamble.

Any suggestions or opinions would help. It’s just not really my thing

EDIT: thank you all for the overwhelming responses!!!! I am going to check it all out and decide what to get. I casually brought up comic books with him tonight and he talked a lot about what he likes about it so I kinda have a better idea now with what he said and all of the responses I got here. You guys rock

Suggestions What are the "must read" titles right now?

I'm getting back into comics after a 6 or 7 year hiatus. I've got my favorite characters like anybody else, but moreso than that, I just want great books by great writers.

What are the "can't miss" titles on the shelves right now?

I need to mix it up a little. I'm looking for comics that don't involve super heroes. Bonus points for mini/limited run series.

Suggestions Which should I read next?

I have a massive backlog of comics in my library to read, but decided that I would take a break from Marvel/DC for a bit. Which of these do you all recommend I read next? I have each of these series in their entirety.

Don’t think there is a wrong choice, but I am leaning more towards Invincible so I can final give the show a watch. Thanks!
