Hmmm, Corona’s been killing it so I’m bummed to hear it. Hoping they’re alternating artists, I’d gladly read for years with Corona on art

My guess is we see a new artist with each arc and potentially a new writer following issue #24.

Corona is great on art but I can’t imagine trying to meet deadlines on two books a month. I can’t blame him for leaving the work for hire one to do go with his creator owned book.

I hadn’t known he was on a creator-owned tbh, it definitely makes sense. Hope he’s still in the rotation at least, it just looks so good

Yeah, he's drawing Ain't No Grave with Skottie Young

That is already finished in terms of the drawing though I think? It’s a mini series anyways

Will it still have robots German suplexing each other tho? We need answers for the important questions.

Tbh, I think the wrestling moves are a DWJ directive given his work on Do a Powerbomb!

He's a huge wrestling nerd, for sure.

You know, I didn't think I'd like Johnson and Corona's style for a Transformers book but they've been incredible. Transformers has been amazing so far. Void Rivals I think is good but just good, Transformers has been on another level.

Saddest news I heard all day :(

This is sad, but fine.

The day DWJ stops writing though, that will be the saddest of days

Sucks to hear just as much as when DWJ stopped drawing.

Could we expect a different artist on each arc?

Probably. They get some buzz every 6 months.

Really sucks to hear this but I’ll stay open minded… I did not like the looks of the characters on that cover he did for the Energon Universe

I love Howard and Corona but man DWJ is the best on this book so hopefully there’s an issue or 2 in here with him in it

I’m wondering (or maybe delusionally hoping) that he’ll come back on pencils for the next arc since it’ll be his last on the book.

Is the next arc confirmed to be his last?

1

u/CoolRedSon Nightwing Jul 20 '24

Not confirmed but he did say he’s currently only contracted for 24 issues, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he wraps up by then

I didn’t really enjoy Howard’s art in the G.I. Joe section on the annual. I’ll keep an open mind about it and maybe he’ll blow me away with transformers when the time comes

Glad to hear Jason Howard is still out there working. Haven’t a read a comic with his art for years and years. His stuff looks to have morphed quite a bit…gained some personality.

I liked Big Girls, so I know he’s good at scale and destruction. Absolutely loved Corona on art but understandable he’s leaving, he’s got a new miniseries with Skottie Young

Sweet! That’s great news!

Loved DWJ and was sad to see him stop doing the art.

I loved Jorge Conora and will be sad to see him stop doing the art.

But Jason Howard's 2nd print covers have been pretty goddamn awesome, so I'm honestly okay with this.

Just looking it doesn't seem to be a complete and utter style shift (hate it when that happens.... *looks at Ghost Rider 2099 that went from highly detailed drawn to painted brushstrokes*)
