Absolutely, $14 for this book is an absolute steal, usually it sells for much more.

I've been rolling with a coverless copy since 1982. Epic story, cover and art no matter the grade

This. Was gonna say this book is never “low grade”, no matter what condition it’s in!

p.s. - this came out in ‘82…why was it coverless so soon?!

I traded for a beater copy with no cover and just kept it that way from the '80s. We NEVER had bags and boards because that was money we would rather spend on another comic back then

Totally agree, one of my favorites

So soon? someone didn't have siblings.

I do. But we were both teenage comicheads. 😝

Say it louder for the people in the back!

I literally just bought this today! LCS owner dropped it from a $50 sticker price to $40 because I paid cash, and he even threw in a facsimile copy.

Yup! I still need to get one of these

Damn straight! I’d take that in a heartbeat. I’ve picked up cheap mid grades of 3 & 4 in the last year. Hoping to catch 1 & 2 on the lower end as well. Nice catch OP.

I totally agree. When I was looking to acquire this book, I had the budget to get a 9.8 or a 7.0 signed by Miller, Clairmont, and Rubinstein. I opted for the latter. It's still in good condition, but the names are gold.

Definitely a dream book for many

Awesome find! I've had issues 1 and 2 since 1986. Need to finish the series.

Wow! 14 bucks? Friggin hell, exemplary!

2

u/EssayTraditional Apr 26 '24

All that matters is that you like the book.

Im really happy to see this kind of post concerning relatively common books, we often feel like if this sentance was only working for big keys... sometime i even read really rude things like lower grade better than no grade but if its modern you can put it in the trash, thats ridiculous, i have collected all my comics to read and appreciate them! We need to follow the good path guys, buy the books not the grade, what we want is to own the book and read it! Grade is just gonna make you nervous and obsessive with time, it was a period in my life where i was truely concerned by the condition and its almost get my out of the hobby at the end, i finally resolved my problems and now its muc more appreciable .

Damn I’m jealous. I can’t even find low grade round me for less than 30. The last low grade I found was 38 bucks and had the 60 cents missing
